TXBatman has it right with the signs and symptoms of bursitis DM, but please beware of creams and patches. If they contain a medication that you can't take orally, then you'll have the same side effect when used topically. The anti-inflammatories are a good example. If you can't take them due to stomach upset, ulcers or renal impairment etc, the creams will give exactly the same side effects, and have been known to induce gastric ulcers.

Please feel better soon DM. We hate for you to be in pain. Hassle that doctor too if you don't hear back first thing in the morning. Keep phoning until they get sick of you and put him on the line, just to shut you up
