Remind me not to stalk around your place unannounced. I can cut myself on a sharp breeze and don't need an experience with a machete. Did you put him on a pike as a warning?

Good for Gwynny. She must have been down-right scared.

Guess I've just been hiding out. Was going through stuff at work and in my personal life that just got me down for a while and then went on a TV/movie watching binge that seemed to last for quite a bit. Didn't even come on to "just look." It wasn't just that. I was really busy too. Some weeks I was going from early a.m. until 8 at night before I would get a chance to make dinner. I had to stop doing that because I was exhausted.

Plus, it seems that every weekend I've been running around like a fool--traveling here and there to do things. It's been nice to have some down time at home, although my dust bunnies are scared of me even though I HAVE been humanely catching and releasing them outside. You'd think they'd catch on to that.

A major achievement was getting my 400+ CD collection back into my iTunes library after an external drive crashed. It takes forever to recreate your library and playlists. I'm still not done with the playlists, but everything's pretty much back and loaded. Lost purchased music, however, which irks me.

Got tired of knowing that there was a bunch of stuff lurking unsorted through in closets from when I moved in here, so spent time going through that. And shredded a lot of paper. It takes forever when you have a home shredder and reams of paper to do because they fill up and/or overheat so often from continuous use. To do what I had to do really required a commercial one. I spent at least a week shredding and I still have stuff to do.

Have a lot of things coming up, e.g. kid's wedding (about 3 weeks from now) and my first ever trip to Europe (w/FG-- And nope, she ain't flyin', I actually want to GET there).

Basically, I was just under all the stuff I needed/wanted/had to do. When I was fried, I just retreated rather than came out to play and talk. Just needed the down time I guess. A couple people knew where I was and what I was doin', so that was ok.

And that's the Reader's Digest condensed version of the last few months!

Hey, Caribou, if you go to iTunes, there is some kind of dealy where you can recover your purchased files via the store. I haven't tried it (thank goodness) but I've read about it. What a drag! You've inspired me to burn hard copies of all my purchased music, yuck.

I'm almost ashamed to say, they DID.

actually, it's a sorta teepee-lookin' thing, made of poles, over by the back of the pond.

the corpus delicti all a-hangin' there kinda curtails my bench-sittin' and duck-feedin' mode, know what I mean, jellybean ??

sharp breeze, lol, Deer.

did 20 years worth of shredding... bank, insurance, and other papers when I moved to Belize.

hadda get DD to assist, as I kept jammin' the feed.

but the experience was soooooooooo fulfilling and purifying !!

Totally understand the "fulfilling and purifying" aspect of it. It actually feels GOOD to get rid of all this stuff. My next stupid idea is to actually take all my bills, etc., and scan them and burn them to disc. Then I can get rid of all that paper and all I'll have is discs lying around. Hey, you can fit a lot of files on a DVD nowadays.

OMG, I can't believe that they actually DID put Senor Don Gato on a pike. Road kill on a pike. Who would a thought of it?

Which reminds me.... did you ever hear the kids' song Senor Don Gato? I used to love it when I was in grade school:

Oh Senor Don Gato was a cat
On a high red roof Don Gato sat
He went there to read a letter,
Meow, meow, meow
Where the reading light was better,
Meow, meow, meow
'Twas a love note for Don Gato

"I adore you," wrote the lady cat
Who was fluffy, white, and nice and fat
There was not a sweeter kitty,
Meow, meow, meow
In the country or the city,
Meow, meow, meow
And she said she'd wed Don Gato

Oh, Don Gato jumped so happily
He fell off the roof and broke his knee
Broke his ribs and all his whiskers,
Meow, meow, meow
And his little solar plexus,
Meow, meow, meow
"Ay Caramba," cried Don Gato

Then the doctors all came on the run
Just to see if something could be done
And they held a consultation,
Meow, meow, meow
About how to save their patient,
Meow, meow, meow
How to save Senor Don Gato

But in spite of everything they tried
Poor Senor Don Gato up and died
And it wasn't very merry,
Meow, meow, meow
Going to the cemetery,
Meow, meow, meow
For the ending of Don Gato

When the funeral passed the market square
Such a smell of fish was in the air
Though his burial was slated,
Meow, meow, meow
He became reanimated,
Meow, meow, meow
He came back to life, Don Gato

actually, 'twas a female, Dona Gata, lol.

she was treating our little farm like her own personal all-you-can-eat buffet.

and no, I never heard that little ditty...

hope the Jaguarundi doesn't have nine lives, she was plague enough with just one.

my dust bunnies have naught to fear from me... I ever tell ya how I clean house?

I just take off my GLASSES, and voila, all done !!

and the cobwebs, well, mi esposo has this theory...

seems we get a lot more bug bites after cobweb removal duty...

so, he prefers to leave their Halloween decorations in place, festooning the ceiling corners.

Ooohhh...... You're gonna get it from FG for that! (but I will make her write it down!)

She told me I wasn't allowed to drive because I have no experience driving on the left side of the road. So then I asked her how she got her experience driving on that side of the road. Guess what? I'm driving! If she panics, I'll just make her a hood ornament and we'll be fine.

Nope, only have iced tea, ginger beer, and, well, Guinness. You're SOL, Taffy, my dear woman. Maybe you should covet little green balls instead.
