Thanks for the update AMN. I'm so glad the pain is less intense today. My Mom had a hairline fracture in her hip. The surgery to repair it was very non-invasive and she healed quickly. I hope DM doesn't need surgery, but if so, today's methods are much improved.

I am glad to hear that she isn't in as much pain as she was ... Denny needs to tie her down and keep her in bed!! Oh that sounds a bit sadistic but sort of goes along with the avatar theme she's had going lately!! LMOA!!!

Fibre...that's what she needs. More fibre!!

Anyway, tell her hello for me and lots of prayers and gentle hugs. (should I send her a bottle of TH wine???)

Hello dear NT friends! I'm overwhelmed w/the wonderful well wishes. Thank you all for your kind words. When were at the campground looking forward to a wonderful wkend w/friends from out of state. I was getting corn ready to cook and stumbled and fell completely off the pad onto the ground landing on my R hip (the same hip that I had injections in and had fallen on once already.

Well, needless to say, OUCH! It hurt all wkend and by Sun, I couldn't walk w/o intense pain. It was awful. Yest (Mon) the pain had lessoned some and after talking w/the Dr's office, I decided to wait another day, as the Dr was in surgery. Today, the pain has lessened more and I'm walking w/o the cane and just a limp. The nurse, (guessing) mentioned either a bone chip that was pressing on a nerve, a pinched nerve, or a compression fx due to my severe osteoporosis. Who would have thought that at 53 yo, my bones would be so thinned out and brittle???? I am petrified of breaking something, as my Osteo has done one sweet number on my bones.

I was also given the news recently that my Boniva IV injections have to be halted for now, as the meds are causing my kidney function levels to decrease. W/only one kidney, that has caused some concern. So, the more I try to protect my bones, seems like the more I fall. I've been having some balance issues, so am thinking down the road, I may need a Neuro appt.

Anyway, I am feeling a lot less pain, so am going to walk more today and if the pain returns, it's off to the Dr for me. I know you are probably thinking I'm crazy for not rushing to the Dr right now, but since the pain has leveled out, I'm going to test the hip this morning and will call the Dr if the pain intensifies.

I just want to say thanks to Cin for letting you all know about DM's latest mishap and for all the wonderful posts. You all are the cream of the crop and I really care about all of you. Thanks for trying to call me, FG~~ (Cindy told me that you were checking on me) The storm had knocked out something down the line and my landline was not working right.

I'll let you know how my test drive ~~ errrr walking around, goes today. I'm afraid I"ll end up at the Dr sooner than later!! :(
