I must admit if I really have to go, then I'll check evey stall until I get the cleanest one, and even then I hover!

I've never seen a seat cover anywhere here, but they sure sound like a good idea.

I carry travel sizes of facial tissues and wet wipes so I am prepared with my own tissue in case theirs is missing or won't tear off the roll.

I know where the clean restrooms are in all the stores and restaurants in town and stay away from the dirty ones.

I am still amazed at how many women do NOT wash their hands after using the restroom.

I chose #1, which is what I used to do when I could still hover. Now, I wipe the seat with tissue, then line it with same before I sit. I suppose I could carry antiseptic wipes in my purse?

I know!! I always wash my hands whether at home or away and when I'm in a public restroom I use the towel I dried my hands on to open the door. That door handle has got to be just crawling with germs - especially from the people who chose not to wash up afterwards!! Then I have to find somewhere to dispose of the germy towel....

This is why I don't go out much.....or just don't drink anything for three or four hours prior to going out!

ok, I mis spelled it I was pretty tired.

I am gonna try to fix it, lets see how badly I can mess it up.

I too am truly frightened at how many dont wash their hands. I once caught the FIRST CLASS stewardess not washing and dashing out. I screamed at her "HEY! please wash your hands if you are on my flight!!!" she wheeled back in and was not happy! she snorted at me, and scrub her paws quickly. Later on it turned out she was serving first class on MY flight! I was glad to be in coach that day.

Seriously, WASH YOUR HANDS!

In defense of non-handwashers in public restrooms, I submit the following:

I never, ever wash my hands in a public restroom unless the situation is absolutely demanding of it.

No way am I going to touch all the stuff— soap dispenser paddle that virtually NEVER gets cleaned, the faucet handle that is covered with the soup of "quick fingertip rinsers", the towel dispenser handle, the button on the air dryer, the door handle on exit...

My strategy for years has been disposable antibacterial wipes. Aside from all I've listed above, I will also want my scooter or walker handles cleaned because they must be used to exit the voting booth.

So, once I've escaped the veritable petri dish of germs, I do a full and thorough sanitization of all my own surfaces and carry on.

Also, many others seem to carry the little bottles of hand-sanitizer in purse or pack for the same reasons.

Incidentally, it is widely reported that most computer keyboards have more types and quantity of bacteria than the average public toilet.

Brunch, anyone?

I just sit. If there'e any liquid, I clean immediately if absolutely committed to that stall (sometimes lines and HC unavailabilty do that to you). Just know I always blame those #$% hoverers, sitters can't do that unless they are really sitting weird and UCK!!!!! I saw one of those shows (Mythbusters? A Special?) about the same subjects. Unless you are weirdly wiping areas on the seat that you should NOT if sitting )With only the "meaty" areas in direct contact with the seat, means Germs would have to "crawl " over later to an area to reach areas of access. Germs can' t crawl. I do try to only use my home base, but sometimes it's any port in the storm threatening to come (OMG sometimes!) But there is a psychological upbringing Ick factor.

A girl's got to do what a girl's got to do sometimes. Besides, I couldn't hover anymore anyway.

I chose #1 - I hover when at all possible..... there are times when I finally get there I have to go so bad and my legs give out before I am done!

I always wash my hand!!!!! but, I pull out the paper towels first cause there are a lot of germs on that too!! and then yes, I carry the antibaterial wash in my purse & car to use when I return.

I know there are so many germs every where hanging around but I try to be clean as well.
