I got a new phone earlier this year and I have issues with the ringing, too. It is so quiet that I can't hear it most of the time. So, I put it on vibrate. HOwever, my phone is the same as yours when I use the Bluetooth headset, it does nothing! With my old Motorola Razr, the phone would either ring or vibrate and I would hear a tone in the ear piece. This one won't ring or vibrate and I get no tone in the ear piece.

Some technolgy has made life better, some not. The work cell phone means DH is always assessible and some don't hesitate to call when he takes off (Ruinsday for me because he always takes it - can't ignore a ringing phone or his job for a moment.
His computer is hooked to company. He works early morn when he couls be doing other family-mess in kitchen things (I can do little now physically.)

shelley, you keep bringing up personal business..... Didn't your mama ever tell you that some things are personal?

I had the opposite thing--I took the phone to the AT&T store and asked them how to make it ring silent. Nope. You can't DO that on this phone. There's no such thing as "silent" ring. HUH???? Every other phone I've had you've been able to put the phone on silent. You can watch the display light up, you can see someone's calling, you just don't get ANY noise. Nope. Not on my phone. And have you tried looking for a "silent" ring tone?????

Sort of like the phone I got with dial by voice. You could say the name of the person and it would repeat it back to you and then dial. Except for mine. Apparently the manufacturer made the entire line of phones with dial by voice where you could record the name but there was no external button to push to use the feature. Hmmm..... ya think THAT was a manufacturing defect?

honestly, I let mi esposo "deal" with our cell phone.

my fingers can't press those teensy buttons with any accuracy...

and I don't know what the little symbols mean, or how it works.

I swear, he was using the phone yesterday during the water taxi ride to play games.

I'd no IDEA that one could DO that !!

I'm sorry baby, I know you are stressed about this but it is rather funny. The high tech guys are so high tech they make the ultimate phone...it does everything it's supposed to do...but it doesn't.

Please forgive yer pore ole Ma, but it was jest a lil bright spot in a dull day. Hope you got your new phone and it works like a phone should.

Hope your new phone rings Cheryl. It is kind of funny how you explained it but I know right now you don't need that. Especially as a business phone! Sounds like you received a dud.

My bet is that somehow your old phone got onto "flight mode", which prevents incoming calls from causing the phone to ring. I had that happen once and couldn't for the life of me figure out why no calls would come in or out. I would get voice mails, text messages, etc...but couldn't get any calls. If you were able to call out, but couldn't get an incoming ring, then I have no idea what was happening. Either way, hope the new one works!

Yep, we toggled the standalone feature. Tried the speaker phone. We tried that too. I think it was just a defective phone.

The new one works just fine! Woohoo! I tried all the settings, plugged in my headset and unplugged it and it still rings. Plugged it into the battery charger and it still rings! So far so good! The other never rang from the gitgo but I guess I just didn't realize it because I was too busy learning how to use it!

Got this one figured out!
