Yikes Doyd!!! Yes, do call the Dr and please let us know what they say. You may need a different cough med. Those bronchitis croups can be murder. I had bronchitis last yr and once I'd start to cough, I couldn't quit. Take care.

Sending healing hugs your way.

When I woke up this morning I didn't feel as bad. The longer the day goes by and the more talking I do the worse I cough. So of course I had taklked to anyone at all during the day so I didn't call the doctor. So i will call him tomorrow

I gave up and called the doctor this morning. When I wake up I am generally feeling pretty good. But I used my good cardiac stethescope and listened to my lung sounds in front. I must admit that I'm not really sure I can still call myself a nurse anymore since I have forgot so many things but I do know what a good lung sound is and what one sounds like when it's not good. And mine landed in the second category. So I went and got a chest xray and he started my on Cortisone. Oh, I hate to take that stuff. It tastes so bad. Chocolate very quickly removd that from my mouth though! I won't get the result of the chest xray until Monday. I could shoot myself for not calling yesterday!

I hope the Cortisone works for you Doydie and that you feel better real soon! I have never had the Cortisone before but I have heard that it tastes horrible - you have the perect excuse now to eat chocolate though if anyone complains!!!

I hope the Chest X-Ray results come back clear as you don't need any more problems to deal with!!

Thinking about you and sending many gentle hugs your way. Please let us know when you hear anything else!!

Lung sounds are clear today!!!!!!! This morning I had an occasional cough but that's all it was. But as the day has gone by I have done more coughing. Anxious for Monday to come and see what the chest xray showed. I don't like it that the nurse practioner alluded to asthma. I don't want another problem

Hey Doyd! Hope this means that your'e on the mend. I tend to do the same thing, wait another day to see if I start to feel better. Then, I end up saying the same thing you did. Why didn't I call the Dr earlier?? Hope the chest Xray is ok and that you feel better w/each passing day.

Grrrrrrrrr, I'm so mad. I decreased my cortisone dose today and I've been wheezing and coughing all day. I do not want to have a dx of asthma!

IF that's the case i'd ask for an immediate referral to a pulmonologist.
it's always best to get another opinion.
and, there might be something they can do to settle down your lungs.

have they considered some type of short term inhaler to cut the irritation?
i don't know why you have to wait so long for just an ordinary chest x-ray.
they can develop those films in 30" and have it read.
