All of you should come to Maine - people are much more considerate here - in Massachusetts I'm sure they would just run you down with a shopping cart - or else they would have let their kids run you down with their little carts - I used a scooter type thing at Jamestown last year - only person I ran into was my husband and it was FUN !! Not running into him but having the wind blowing through my hair !!
