Default Whine...rant...pity poor me...

So this week has been quite a week. I finally broke down and got handicap license plates for the car so I could keep the placard in the van. I won't need them until the heat hits and then again when it turns cold. So I kept putting it off. I was okay with it until I got the form filed out by the neuro. Then it hit me and I was upset. I was okay again by the time I went for the plates themselves.

Since it's Spring and the birds are out singing, I have found I do have a little more energy. So I have been going for daily walks (2-3 miles!) and sometimes even go for a second short walk with my neighbor so we can chat. I have even lost a few pounds (wow!).

Yesterday half way through my morning walk I started getting a pain in the arch of my foot. This pain is getting worse and it's very difficult to walk. It feels like I bruised something inside my foot. I am doing the MS walk on Sunday so I cannot walk for the rest of the week. I want to rest my foot and hope it is better by Sunday.

It never fails, I start exercising and feeling good and something always happens. Usually my MS starts to misbehave and I expect that. But now I am having something new to deal with and it really ****** me off.

Okay I'm done now...

I hope your foot feels better so you can do the walk.

Congratulations on not only the weight loss but how far you can walk in 1 shot! That's awesome! Although I have done the MS Walk a couple of times the realty is the MS Walk done me in by the 1st mile. Of course, stupid pride wouldn't let me stop and I kept up, very slowly, to the end. The fact that you can do 2 to 3 miles daily is just admirable!

Great job K! I'm proud of you.

I know what you mean. It's just another reminder, or wake up call, that this stupid disease is real! I don't have any words of wisdom... but I do care!

Hope the foot heals soon! I've had arthritis in my big toes for years and can understand how bad it hurts when there's a problem with your foot.

First of all, congrats on the walking K; that's great, but it really stinks that your'e having foot problems now, esp w/the MS walk coming up. I'm just getting back into short walks and it's been really hard for me, but I know I have to.

Let us know how your foot is and I hope the pain goes away as fast as it showed up. take care...

My foot feels slightly better this evening. Maybe by not doing my daily walks will help it heal faster. Unless it's something like plantar faciitis, then I'll end up at the foot doctor's. It really ticks me off because I am just getting to the point where my bursitis is manageable (after years of pain) and now something new!

Thanks for so much for all of your kind words.

Whe I had the plantar fasciaitis the podiatrist wrapped my foot to see if that helped, which it did immensley. Then he made special orthodics for my shoes which are worth thier weight in gold.

I'm so sorry about your poor foot, Karousel.

You are so good to go on the walks. I have yet to do one. (Was going to last year until I broke the ankle).

Proud of you for doing 2-3 miles daily! Woohoo for you! I hope the foot heals quickly so you can continue walking and losing weight. You are so good!
