Default Feeling Sad and So Left Out...

There was just a thread about being out of the loop..... this is kinda related. Today, where I used to work, was the final state visit for a grant that I had implemented for the last 5 years. I have missed the entire final year. Plus today, our state supervisor, who has become my good friend, was there for her final visit. One of my best friend had taken over my position when I had to retire with disability in August. She has done a wonderful job I know, but I just can't even be there to celebrate the success with her.

I know that you all know how I feel. So I am just sharing this with you, to get it off my chest. So now I will try to dry my tears and be thankful for all the blessings God as given to me through this whole thing. And I will move on... But it's hard to be positive 100% of the time.

Thanks for listening!

Well, that just stinks and I don't blame you for feeling upset!

It's like smiling through your Ex-Husband's wedding to a size 6, 20-years-younger-than-you, new bride while pretending that it doesn't affect you! How many of us could do THAT?

That project was your BABY! You gave birth to it, raised it, but didn't get to walk it down the aisle! I'm sorry, Friend.

retirement was so hard in the begining. it gets easier as you make a new life for yourself.

Sometimes you just have to grieve your losses. Then, on your own time schedule, move on to counting your blessings, looking on the bright side, making lemonade out of lemons, and all of THAT puppy poop.

Awww Friend.

I can certainly understand why you feel sad, and I'd say that's a pretty normal feeling. I don't have any wonderful words of wisdom, but wanted to send you my support.

I'd like to think that they gave you honorable mention, since you were a big part of it.

to you.
i understand. i felt the same way when i had to leave my 35 yr nursing career because of my MS.

it was such a profound sense of loss. i really grieved for that loss.
i've felt better with time.

i hope you do too.
