Help D liver D letter D sooner D better

today i finally got to speak to my darling daughter, chelsea, about her follow-up visit the other day with her (our) hepatologist over at USC, dr. donovan, re the results of her recent liver biopsy, which was performed to determine the amount of damage the hep 'C' virus has wreaked so that she can make an informed decision concerning possible course of tx...

ahem: she has absolutely NO fibrosis or inflammation in her liver, you guys!!!---

i have been so stressed out about this, for weeks. the most likely source of the virus for her being "household exposure," you can only imagine the guilt i feel for having given my only child hepatitis 'C'. (your mother probably gave you milk & cookies. not chelsea's mom! nooooo.) the fact that i didn't do it on purpose is neither here nor there, it still SUCKS.

but this is a huge relief. best news i've had in i can't remember how long and so of course i had to share it with my TOS forum family.

i have never ever posted on this thread before.

now i suppose i have no excuse whatsoever not to go forward with pursuing thinking about thinking about getting a re-do, i guess. hey, anyone wanna hook up with me in denver? maybe in the fall, i'm thinkin'... too hot right now!

think i'll call and make appointments with drs. ahn, brantigan, sanders and (maybe) weaver. probably will look up that heartthrob steve annest too while i'm at it...

unfortunately, i've managed to outsmart myself once again and gone and lost my medical records. so now i have to start reconstructing everything. sheesh

meds and surgery, surgery and meds. the last resort of the feeble and feint of heart. i am such a loser....

NOT

just overjoyed at the news about chelsea's liver. as i type this, she is on her way to rosarito with her daddy, brother, uncle, cousin et al to celebrate in a little casita they rent every summer. felicidades are definitely in order for my little tapatilla this weekend. ole! holy, mole, even!

hope you all are staying cool and hanging in as best you can. see you in the fun zone, kidz.

AlisonNothing like good news about your kids. My son had viral meningitis this winter and was out of school for 2 months. He was in 6th grade. Spent time with neoro's,MRI's, Spinal taps, and all the fun that goes with it. Actually there was a problem with the tap. They hit a nerve and did not withdraw fluid. He was in pain for a long time FROM the tap. We had a tutor but it's not the same. I am so happy you got good news on your daughter! Best wishes, Linda

PS. I like the Today I... thread. It is nice to share. Good or bad.

Post Everybody...

HI from little me. I have been trying to keep up to date but wow so many new threads, new replies and I just cannot keep up. I have skimmed thru and want to say

All thiise had surgery...hope al things went ok and you are recovering well. I gather Mark is progressing in getting goober to "move house" now that he has pain punp installed. Best wishes Mark.

DiMarie - good luck with interview.

Gibbrn...best wishes and I pron=mise that card soon. Motivation down plus pain up so no crafting.

Good news re Chelseas liver biopsy.

Sorry can only mention a few, but I forget quickly. I am missing so much and sorry not contributing much bit time goes quickly. Have been battling a chest infection.....went away for a short break. It was fun but exhausting and at least the weather was kind to us as fed up like some of you with the persistent rain. Flooding has been bad here, we have been fortumate. My sympathies and wishes to anyone flooded etc. And have just heard about the bridge collapse in Minniapolis- how frightening and awful. I hope the casulaties are only a few....I am lost for words. So many horrible things going on in the world.

Anyway..best wishes everyone...I am now going to finish unpacking and then rest, then I must catch up with things.

Oh yes..going to try some hypnosis to help with pain..nothing ventured nothing gained. By doctor in medical pratice...if helps take away some of the nauseating pain away even for a bit then it will be worth it. Still no word re my other specialist referral. I keep hoping that it will come in the mail but no...just bills and junk mail.

Take care all.

Hx

Default Today I.....

Today I..... am going back to the chiro to hear their treatment plan, but am not sure if i'll let them tweak me. I'm afraid that they'll tweak me into outer space.

Also, Today I decided that I'm going back to the basics. I pulled out my copy of Managing Pain Before it Manages You, and re-copied all the pain diaries, relaxation results, etc.

I know I'm prone to over-analyzation, but I realized that when I stopped that, and stopped paying attention to what hurts, how it hurts, and when, I started to hurt more and more often. I also fell into a prolonged "funk." I think that some of this was I allowed my pain to control me, instead of doing what I could to keep it in check. So, we'll see. There IS only so much that I/we can do, and part of the problem before (I think) was that I put too much emphasis on me and me alone fixing me.

anyways..... I hope everyone is doing well today!!

Default Today I

say hello to you all!
The internetpoint was out of order and so I could not write until now.
I have a lot of different therapies: individual physical therapy, water therapy, lymphatic massage, normal massage, microampere, energy therapy, and so on... the art is the find a compromise between shoulder training and TOS (they call it Te-O-Es here, I always say TOS in one word, funny) but most of the time I work on the coordination of my scapula, who is completly un-coordinated after surgery.
I have an "angel" of therapist who has a big repertoir of methodes and so I hope I will profite a max here.
In the afternoon, Ican have a siesta - this is luxury for me.

I scrolled through you conversations and as I can`t reply to all, I wish all the best to my extended family members and I hope things will be ok!
All the best and sunny greetings from carinthia
Barbara

Just a Hello to all.

was called away due to a urgent family emergency in another state for the last week and a half.
BIL had terminal cancer {lungs/liver} - {quick moving or he ignored it until it was to late for any treatment}
-he passed away at a friends home - peacefully it seemed, like falling asleep.
Just wanted to let you know where I have been.

These situations - it really opens your eyes to getting a will or a trust set up as well as any final wishes in writing -and getting all finances and papers in order. His were not.
So I'm going to be working on those things I did some of mine last night.

Quicken has a prg that you can download called Will Maker - I'm sure there are other prgs out there too, but I had just bought Quicken Deluxe 2007 in February and the Will Maker prg comes with it as a free download.
So far it seems very easy to use and you can add comments and detailed wishes as you go along.
