Good input. I go to a vascular surgeon on Monday for an opinion. Hoping my TOS is primarily NTOS, but one never knows. *Not that it isn't bad enough with just that. Just wondering (or scared) that being a vascular person they will find some position with diminished blood flow. Just wondering whether it will be specific to me, or if anyone off the street would have similar if placed in abducted positions.

What led you to think there was any circulation impingement versus just nerves compression? How are you recovering from the surgery? Have they given any sort of prognosis of use of the area post surgery (assuming no complications)?

In other words, will you forever be restricted from doing certain activities?

I had vascular symptoms, like the "white hand sign" as well as visible veins, redness, and swelling.

Recovery is still pretty painful, but I have noted improvements. Won't be able to tell how much for a few months yet, I suspect. I see my doctor soon for a follow-up and then in a few months. They'll probably be able to give me more of a long-term prognosis then.

Without surgery, there were things I just couldn't do, so I felt surgery was my best bet for getting some of my mobility/ROM back.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. I'm a little anxious about my appt. on Monday. Keeping good thoughts for you during this recovery period. Best wishes for the weekend.

Pixified, did Dr. Criado do your surgery?

I am scheduled to see him in two weeks.

You story sounds like mine. I am ready for surgery.

Default 2 weeks post op

Dr. Criado did my surgery 2 weeks ago and he is very good. I am 2 weeks post op so it is to soon to tell if this will give me relief or or not. I have neurogenic TOS. I was scared to death about having the surgery after reading other peoples descriptions, but in the end I chose to have surgery because the possibility of getting some relief was to good to pass up and it was getting too hard to take care of my son. I will be happy to answer any of your questions regarding my experiences with Dr. Criado. I saw him twice before making the choice to have surgery and I don't regret it at this point as I am no worse than before surgery. You can send me a private message if you want.

Well it's approaching 6 months since my surgery. When I woke up from surgery I immediately felt more space where the rib/muscle use to be, even through all the pain. that feeling went away pretty quickly, but I'm happy to report that I have been feeling it again more and more often. I'm certainly making very slow, but increasingly steady, progress. It's still 1 1/2 steps forward, 1 step back, but I can officially say that having the surgery improved things instead of just leaving them the same
