Looking for a neurologist in Charlotte area exp. with TOS. The only one on list is deceased. I don't need a surgeon--just a 2nd opinion/diagnosis. I've seen a Sports Med MD who said TOS, wants to run and EMG before giving me exercises. My ins deductible is too high and the EMG will cost 2800--SO, wanting either a 2nd opinion on necessity or a neuro who can tell what type I have with other measures and offer exercises.
thanks for all the help-- |

However, since you state that you aren't looking for a surgeon, try looking at chiropractors. http://www.topteamfitnessacademy.com/chiropractor/ Also, I was able to find relief for a majority of my symptoms through massage therapy. This guy claims to treat TOS. http://www.bodysourcecw.com/

thanks for the help--my husband has been pushing a chiro but i'm one of those who just won't try it again--sorry--NO offense to anyone, it's just me. I guess I was thinking a neuro is my best (non chiro) next option--should I be thinking about a dif type of DR?

It appears to me that there are more resources in Chapel Hill/Raleigh/Durham?

I think seeing a Vascular Surgeon for diagnosis is going to more fruitful than a Neurologist in your area.

i will admit that the chiro I came across was very good with the whole body alignment and doing PT type modalities- very gentle with adjustments too.
You can usually just ask for a evaluation- but seek out an expert & well trained one that also studies to keep up with all things healthy. There are advanced PT people out there - go to something like - physical therapy association website, and search for ones in your area with lots of letters after their name LOL - I was able to locate a teacher of PT at the local university he also had his own PT clinic - he was very helpful. Many body worker types like Feldendkrais, Bowen, McKenzie, Alexander - any of those has videos & websites telling more about them. I always forget this guys name -Erik Dalton seems like another possible technique - has a video here- http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...let%20syndrome
