Default therspy: reach a point you get tired of it

Hi,

I have a long drive to theapy, three times a week. It really doesn't seem to help and sometimes seems like such a waste to me depending on how busy the therapista are that day. Do you ever reach a point where you just want just to stop the therapy.

PS-I had injection this week that was painful when it happened but really seemed to help.

Yes, sometimes I just get sick of the doctors and appts., and I kind of take a break from treatment, until I am ready again to face it all...

Yes, I get tired of it too.

Yes Billy!! But in my case my neuro symptoms got worse after a few of months of therapy. The first time I did 4 months of therapy. The second time was 2 months of aqua therapy. I didn't quit.....both times the therapists felt I had plateaued and needed to see my Doctors again for some other kind of treatment.

I am about to start therapy again after my pec minor release surgery. Hopefully without my nerves and arteries being compressed now, they can help me regain my strength. Be sure you talk to them and your Doctor about your feelings. Take Care!!

Default I so hear that one!

Hi,

I had to have the required physio five times a week for half the day and it was such hell. I had to drive home (standard car) shifting gears with my left arm as my right one didn't work anymore due to the pain of the poopy therapy they were giving me....overhead stuff and theraband stuff....this was while I told them I had tos and they told me no way it was very rare.....workers comp required therapy idiots......LONG story.....

just wanted to say I so agree and it is frustrating..

love and hugs,
Victoria

Shoot if my insurance was PPO I’d be in therapy every week. My HMO only allows me four visits at a time, and then I have to go back to my primary doc just to get a referral for another four visits of physical therapy.

What i thought was really dumb about my situation,
{ for my two occurrences of "shoulder/neck strains"} they would send me to therapy and allow me time off from work to go to the sessions, but then I had to return back to work at full duties??

So any benefit to my healing was negated by having me go right back to full work. The only good thing about it was that the place was only 2 miles from work.
I had severe RSI/bilateral "wrist strain" 1.5 yrs before the shoulder /neck stuff and it took a couple months off work and 6 months on light duty before I was able to go back to my regular job. All before I had learned anything about TOS.

Wink Oh, Ya... I Hear Ya...

Hi Billy,
Wow, I can totally relate to what you are saying. When I had been going to PT...

It seemed that the physical therapist didn't have any idea how to deal with TOS. So they would put me thru exercises that were totally inappropriate like lifting weights to strengthen, arm bicycle with resistance etc.
And
When they were over whelmed with patients that day I was sent out on my own and didn't even get any type of stim or massage or if I was lucky I got the 99 cent version...
Sometimes I would sit and wonder why I was even going... So I can totally relate...

Hang in there
Dawn

Dawn-I got the same 0.99 cents version when they are busy.

Just left on my own and told to do exercises.

I just hope they end the therapy soon but feel like I have to go as wc is approving it.

Heck yeah, I got sick and tired of it! So sick of ALL of it... Sick of PT, sick of doctors appointments, sick of the pain, sick of bills arriving in the mail (thank god for health insurance but those co-pays really start to add up) sick of stangers asking what was wrong with my arm since I had to wear a compression sleave for two months (it's not an easy or quick answer, so I would just say "Oh, its just tennis elbow"), sick of the look of shock on peoples faces when they see the surgery scar, sick of taking Coumadin (I was freezing all the time!), sick of hospitals, sick of getting stuck with needles, sick of everything revolving around me - just sick of being sick!

Keep your head up! Im sure it will get better soon.

Default PT

PT at the beginning of injury was 3x a week for 3 months when I loss use of my entire right arm
Back and forth from work and time off was frustrating
I gained movement back but the therapist and WC doc didnt know what else to do for me for the pain and swelling.
Only dx was RSI and poss CTS
Another 6 months of PT by 2 seperate docs before being definitely dx'd.
Very painful as sx's began to get worse at high levels of pain
Surgery was decided
Post surgery: feldenkrais and PT which was the WRONG PT for the BP and ulnar nerve compression
2 more different PT's
Then a total body lock down last spring when a call to 911 happened
Master P found Dr. Salinas in Yorba Linda for me
He has been a GODsend
Understands the anatomy, MY type of treatment.
As for driving to and from
It's frustrating
I believe if you had a GOOD therapist it would be worth it.
I actually have an olecyn jump in my step when I walk out of a session
End of story
