Default have a question

Hello all I haven't been on in a long while. short story version, waiting on epidural shot next week then TOS dr week after. Family & neuro dr certain I have TOS but just going thru the motions before I go back to tos dr. to discuss surgery.
Now my question, has anyone expierenced facial numbness? I'm not talking pins and needles, just a lack of sensation from my chin up to and just below my eyes but not including my nose. It's really odd. my forehead and nose are fine but everywhere else is affected. (I can feel a definate temp difference from my cheek to my forehead when I put my cold hands on the area) My left eye has also been giving me trouble. blurry and unable to focus (even with my glasses) from time to time. I'm to see the neuro dr tom because of this but I wanted to check here.
Opinions???

Heart

Yes, I've had facial numbness where one spot, or one side, or the upper half of my face goes completely numb. There are no pins & needles, it just feels like it would after novocaine. This can last a day or two, or just an hour. It usually involves my lips though - I have noticed that, and my "bad" side is more prone, which is my "right" side.

I also have "tinnitus" and sometimes some hearing loss. The tinnitus is a high pitch ringing and sometimes that can drive me crazy. The hearing loss is more like I can hear my own voice really loud in my own head...These can last days and are usually a part of the high, high pain days.

My TOS has an element of "inflammation" process as was described to me by Dr. Brantigan. I may not be saying it right - but basically I came home after a stressful day - maybe riding in a car for hours for a doctor - and the pain starts rising, then the face will go numb, I can't swallow right, I have nausea, a major headache, and then the "usual" TOS symptoms follow.

Hope you'll keep stopping by - we love newbies

Default do some research

yes. my symptoms are transient, seem associated with arm/shoulder tightness/pain, which eventually lead to head pain, nausea (sometimes vomiting from dizziness), double/blurry vision (left eye worse), and absolute exhaustion after it passes.

Have had tinnitus for a very long time, and it also increases with these episodes. The area that goes "numb" (I prefer to call it "reduced sensation" as some feeling is still there) is lower lip, left side. I have an area along the right jawline that is in perpetual "reduced sensation" going on a few years. Nobody cares.

best of luck.

Well, I finally have my TOS confirmed by my dr. He finally lost the pulse in my arm when he raised it. ( I guess he thought I was kidding when I said it was positional) He believes me now!
BUT now he is hesitant to do the surgery. He wants me to see the TOS dr at Hospital of the Univ of Penn. One of the guys I was originally supposed to see
And of course this is the worst time of year with the cold and I just can't get any relief. Now I have to wait till spring to get anything done. Oh well
