Hi,
My TOS is definetly spreading to the left side. Already bad on right(still can't raise my arm above my shoulder) and I'm awaiting another SSEP nerve test to see how bad things have gotten. In the afternoons, I seem to always feel crummy and minor headaches or stuffy feeling.. A lousy feeling overall, it's hard to explain. Sometimes I take Darvocet(1 or 2) but not every day and it doesn't seem to matter. I thought they caused it. I take Lunesta for sleep but feel fine in the mornings. Could it be from TOS? Maybe allergies? This is a new condition. Anybody else experience anything like this? |

Hi,
I started to develop regular (sometimes daily) headaches about 3/4 months ago - from what i understand from the other guys on here, some of them seem to get regular headahces too. My headahces are frontal - i did always think that typical TOS headaches are positioned at the back of the skulll......the other more knowlegeable members on here can probably offer more of an insight into this than me! My symptoms seem to be changing slowly over the last 6-12 months - TOS is full of such lovely suprises! |

I think that we had a thread about this a while ago.... it seems that things get worse as the day goes on for lots of people.... I know that I'll get headaches, drowsy, crappy feeling some afternoons. My headaches start off in the rear- base of the neck area, but they feel like they go straight to the back of my eye.
Billy - allergies may be contributing.... did you tell your doc about the darvocet and how they make you feel? Also- I had some stretches for my neck and scalene muscles that seem to help alot, since for me those are the muscles that get reaaal itight and lead to headaches.

The feelings seem to come even if I don't take the Darvocet. I don't want anything stronger then that. I onlt take 1 a day when I do need it.

Billy, what do they expect to se on an SSEP? TOS doesn't show there, only carpal or ulnar tunnel. My surgeon uses it as a rule out before surgery to make sure you don't have CTS or Ulnar problems that might cause your symptoms.

Hi Billy,
I was just poking my head in here and don't really keep up on the history of each member, so please forgive me if this has been covered before. I don't know about the headaches, but was wondering if you had been diagnosed with, or investigated for, Fibromyalgia. That is often a secondary diagnosis and does leave you feeling as though you have the flu, fatigued, yucky, etc. If this has not been looked at, you may wish to inquire about the possibilty of Fibro, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and the like. Knowing what the problem is makes a big difference in how one can handle the symptoms...you know that I'm sure. Warmly, Anne |

I do have ulnar and carpal tunnel problems also. These tests showed brachial nerve trouble I had last time. I think they see if nerve damages has gotten worse. Also need report for left to see how much worse it is?

Hi Johanna,
I was under the impression that the EMG is the nerve test which specifies Carpal Tunnel or Ulnar nerve compression. The SSEP meaures the brain signals reaching from the base of the neck to the wrist and does indeed specify TOS. In my case anyway, that is how I was diagnosed with double-crush TOS. Although I did diagnostically, indicate CPS in both wrists, the SSEP proved TOS was the culprit. My brain signals did not match-up between the base of my brain and the wrist in either the median or ulnar nerve in either arm. This was the test that determined I had severe bi-lateral neurogenic TOS. The difference is that the SSEP measured nerve impulses passing through the Brachial Plexus, showing that area was the genises of my nerve issues. This, anyway, is what was explained to me during the testing. The Dopplar and ultrasound tests indicated I also had severe bi-lateral arterial TOS, (in that these are tests of the circulation in varying positions of the arm and neck. Anne |

Billy - you may have answered this already, but did you talk to your doc about an alternative to darvocet? I know there are people around here that have had similar reactions - the nausea, etc. I hope you are able to work this out.
