Hey Dolfinz,

Just checking in. My frozen shoulder is not progressing much at all and I would say its worse for a couple of reasons.

One is that a couple of weeks ago I slipped on teh crapeting down three small steps in our living room and as I went down I put out the left arm and jammed that shoulder.

And along with the TOS I also have a subluxed disc at c5/c6 and with this shoulder I am definitely comspensating when I do certain tasks like drying my hair where I bend my head and neck in certain ways and thus have been putting extra stress on that neck which has flared the nerve roots ay c5/c6 and made that shoulder even more inmovable and the pain has gotten worse.

I am still doing PT and she is trying to release the shoulder and calm down the spinal nerve roots.

I am going back to the ortho to see if perhaps with the complications of the spinal nerves if he might want to do the MUA (manipulation under anathesia) where they will break the adhesions by gently moving the arm through a range of motion.

Any way thats the update on me.

Good luck with your therapy.

Shellyey -i hope your shoulder is feeling better, and that they can thaw it out.

I discovered one more thing to add to my list of "YARDWORK NOT TO DO:" Changing flood lights with a 13 foot ladder and the extendable lightbulb changer. I thought I was doing a good job of not using my bad arm, but today its telling me otherwise. Not only that, but only 2 of the 5 I replaced are working. I need a 24 foot ladder to comfortably get to them I think.
So, lightbulbs join "hedge trimming," "sweeping/raking," and "mowing with a self-propelled mower."

I need to ice down m y shoulder and take a nap.

Hi Shelly Hi Dabbo...

Sorry for not posting .. My shoulder is getting there ! I had another Cortisone shot in the AC joint on 7/22.. and I have since started pt 3 times a week. For a week after the AC shot it hurt like heck ! But then my therapist did the Trigger point and Massage and I have been using a pulley system that I bought thru them ( $20.00). So far it is taking a long time to break up the adhesions, but she says I am making major improvements. I guess the arm is at 180 degrees straight up and I am at 135 degrees. So that is a BIG improvement !

I see the Ortho for follow up tomorrow.. so we will see.

Shelly.. I don't envy you in getting Manual manipulation ! I hope something can break for you soon !Are you using a pulley system at PT ???

But I have ANOTHER symptom that I am dealing with, I have extreme pain in my feet now !!!!! This has been like this for 3 weeks now ! I go see a podiatrist today because they hurt so bad ! I hope this isn't another RSD symptom !

Dabbo.. I feel for ya ! I definately can't do what I used to do and I find that is harder to do the every day things now to ! Hang in there MF.

Well Shelly and Dabbo and everyone else I hope your week is somewhat Pain Free.....

Hugs and Blessings...

Dolfinz
