Today I...
Was told by my best friend that she's engaged.
And I don't like him at all. He is emotionally abusive and I know that this marriage will end up with her living a half life... one where she'll have to give up all the fun things she does the 6 days a week she's not under his watchful eye AND our friendship will die b/c I can't give her my approval.
I'm really sad.
She is my #1 TOS support person too.

Maybe they will have a long engagement... and she'll come to her senses...
Would she read Dr Laura's book ?
Ten Stupid Things Women Do to Mess Up Their Lives
this link has preview pages on it.

Nice hopeful thought & good suggestion, I thank you for it Jo! I can only hope for both. The long engagement and calling it off is actually more likely than the Dr. Laura book Although, maybe I can get it "for me" and read her my favorite selections....
Thanks for the glimmer of hope, yall are the only people I could tell today

Well, I know it's hard to tell a friend or family member that they might be rushing into things & all they need to do is slow it down a bit...and really get to know the person...
Believe me - we tried to tell my brothers that a couple of times and they are both on marriages #3 and those are on shaky ground...
It stinks , ya just get used to a sis in law and then ppfffttt!

on another topic-
It's so weird , lent my nice computer mouse to dd and used a spare one for a day then we went and bought 2 new ones so we'd have a backup if the other one stops working.
Glad she gave my old one back , just using those other kind for a short times made my right arm/shoulder start aching.
same brand but designed just a bit different.

Having another "blah" day. Its hard to get motivated because I feel like I don't want to do anything. And then get frustrated that I'm bored. Its a dumb cycle. I wish I was working so at least I'd have one productive thing to do each day...

Trig Prayers for my son, he lost a brother

I hate bringing sad news but my son is in need of some prayers and my heart is aching all over again.
We are in shock, it is devestating all over again. After losing our De, his full sister, now he lost his half brother.

They were only 9 months between them, the reason my ex and I divorced. He grew up in school with ex's two other boys, but his father did not have a close relationship with our children. Holidays only when they were older my kids would call to go down...if they were available. But the boys always were brothers.

Just before dawn, after a night out, the boy made it less then a mile from his home and hit a tree. My son's sister in law called, but has not called back,
It is just such a heart ache for me to lose these children and to have my son and his father lose two now. There is also a 1 1/2 year old left behind.

I was just beginning to bring myself from deep depresion and now this just made my heart feel like it is being ripped out.

Pray for the family my dear friends,
Di
