Hey Conster...how are you? I am hanging in there. Thankfully my arms have been feeling OK, but I have been having major knots in my trapezius. I carried a ladder around to put up chrsitmas light last friday...and then, forgetting I had already taken a vicadin, had a beer, and overstretched...can you say STUPID?

Anyhow...paying for it this week, even taking vicadin at work..that's a new one for me. How is your celebrex is working out?
Has the Botox injection pain lessened yet? Is the 'old' burning pain still gone?

Smile The Pulse Returns

OK, so I just wanted to follow up with my latest-

Quick summary: Had Botox on both sides in pec and trap, right side of neck on Oct 18. It took about a month but it finally kicked in. I combined it with the chiroptactor 3x a week and more recently, hellerwork 1 day/week.

My second follow up visit was Dec 22 and I have got a pulse back on the right side with elevated arm (in adson's maneuver)... yay! I continue to have one on the left side...so that is good, too.

Ingeneral, I have been feeling pretty lousy, but nmost of my trouble has been in my back and in my traps. My arms (and the burning pain I used to get in my wrists) reall yhad been better. But frankly, I was so preoccupied iwht my back and shoulders that I hadn't really thought so much about that.

Anyhow..back to PT for me starting this friday, to see if I can make more progress. Dr. Jordan said to come back in Feb- it would be about time to see if I am ready for a second round, or earlier if it starts to hurt more b/c he doesn't want it to go back to as bad as it was in the beginning.

He also gave me some long acting vicadin-like medecine (It starts with an O and I hope the pharmacist can read it because I can't. He also gave my lidoderm patches for the knot in my back. wow, those really help. If only I could get one that was about 14" x 14"

Anyhow, measurable progress was such a relief to hear. I had to share.

Thanks to everyone who has offered their support and advice...it really helps me.

Johanna

that's really good news.

My arm, hand and wrist pain faded away also {took yrs {4/03-10/05} with good PT, chiro care & self help}
The forearm tightness and hyper sensitivity around the elbow was the last of the arm pain type problems to resolve.
I still do have less finger dexterity and fine control {hit wrong keys often} and a bit less hand strength - but I can live with that.

aches and trigger points in the muscles when I overdo are the problems for me now- in the neck, shoulders and upper back.

Did you ever try botox? Dr J told me that he would take note of my persistent knot (by the left shoulder blade) and put a little more botox there next time. It might really help with your triggerpoints. It does take a doctor with experience, however, so if you haven't got one, I wouldn't try it.

My chiro got rid of those aches/trps 2 weeks ago - they are trying to come back now since I did the cooking for Christmas dinner. {big pot of spaghetti, and pasta Alfredo all the stirring, carrying and loading the car to take to bros house}
plus the shopping for all the gifts and food.

I could have spaced it out better - but the weather and power outages messed up my usual plan.

I go every month so he can fix me up- LOL

Wow, I looked up the correction brace and am trying to figure out how you can use it. I can't tolerate anything on my shoulders!!

Have you shown this to your P.C. Dr ? I've been advised not to wear anything that severe, however maybe that's just my case.

Default Botox

i believe Dr Jordan and Dr. Machleder at UCLA published an article showing that botox effects lasted 4 to 6 months and deferred surgery. but one patient had trouble with hoarseness.
