I have TOS and other nerve damage in both arms. It started on my right, then spread to the left from overuse. Now, it's flaring on the right side. I noticed swelling under my elbow and underside of the arm. It's ittitating the nerves and causing moderate pain. Anyone else notice swelling like this?

my elbows were puffy & swollen for awhile, with sore spots above and below the elbow joint.
My sore spots were from the tension of the spazed muscles pulling on the other muscles, ligaments & joint connections. dr didn't say too much about it, but did rx PT and evaluation, PT reported back to dr that ulnar pressure braces/straps were needed. so they gave me those to wear , plus PT where they focused on releasing the tension and swelling in that area. does the swelling go up into your arm pit area also? some of it could be from lymph backing up or sluggish. also overusing or not enough movement you can look for videos/info about lymph massage to see if it might be useful.

Sorry about your pain Billy. I do empathise.
I'm still doing the lymph drainage therapy and think it's been quite helpful. But now that I'm only going every 3 wks I am noticiing more elbow pain. I just don't know what to do for the forearm and elbow pain. Even though the TOS is worse on the non-dominant side, it's the other side that has so much burning and pain. A PT checked to make sure I didn't have tendonitis and she said she believes the pain is from TOS. Suffice it to say that perhaps the lymph drainage must be done more often. I think I'll have to learn some of the massage to do myself. Although I do feel that the component of the therapy that breaks up the fascial pulls probably has the biggest effect and I don't that's something I can do on myself. |

Well, I've used Lidoderm patches, Kinesio Tape, LED and infrared lights, Biofreeze, BenGay on my forearms and elbows.
soooooooooooooooooomany things... My therapist gave me a TheraCane. I have to use it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E1KZzmNPp4 Mine looks like that candy cane, but my hands and thumbs hurt to use it, so it took me a long time, years..................................... I seen one on here where you could use your foot. Boy did I need that model. My therapist also gave me a Miracle Ball set for Xmas!!!! for my very own. They were gentle balls to use on your forearms. http://www.buy.com/prod/the-miracle-.../33842169.html I also found that keeping my arms warm helped my pain level tremendously. My therapist cut me off arm socks to wear. I wore them for years too. Still have them. Now that my thumbs are much improved I can use them for the trigger points in my foremarms. Bilateral problems are no fun. Hard to work on yourself with bilateral hands, thumbs, forearms, elbows... well, you all know what I'm talking about... "BAD ARMS." I also got a hairdryer on a stand. My elbows used to throb when I tried to blow my hair dry... forget the curling iron for now. Razors were difficult to use, and when I did I couldn't do it right. I had the laser hair removal for my legs and underarms. I don't regret the money I paid for that. And yoga was a noticeable difference in the pain in my arms. I couldn't do very good when I first started. Actually took me years to do that. Stretching is good for you. No stretching will hurt worse forever... or, until I stated stretching. Advil Liquigels if that will do it for you. and actually buying a Jeep Cherokee helped with my arm pain. Driving killed my arms. still irritates them. and other things too. Praying you find some relief. It was so many things it sounds ridicilous, but that's the way it was.
