How many of you before that accident lived a life that was mean negative or selfish. I dont believe any one disearve to suffer but In your heart of hearts do you think you deserved any injury or wake up call. Not to sound self rightous but I really feel like I didnt deserve this I have been changin for the better and spreading mad love throughtout 29 years on earth. do things happen for a reason. does anyone ever question why during the healing process. and does anyone ever get depressed form wondering why me. Please be honest honesty is all we have in this world that can save it.

Quote:
The Timeless Words of the Desiderata Poem: Desiderata Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself to others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the the world is full of trickery. But let not this blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all it's sham drudgery and broken dreams; it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. I spent these days two years ago in hospital, this poem has allways help me cope with lifes ups and downs, shame we don,t all live , how the wise suggest, I did, but the people who attacked me did not happy days

I can see what you mean though, you wish there was some reason why you're going through this. Some purpose.

I can honestly say I have seen lots of great things happen through my head injury. I have been put in contact with people I never would have been in contact with before this. I have been able to show more people God's love and grace through all this.
It's been amazing to see how God can take anything in a person's life and use it to His glory! I'm really sorry that everyone is going through this and I would never wish it on anyone. I guess I just really want to see the good in this situation, and try to use the things in my life for God.

Dear hardtimes,
I believe there is a reason why I'm going through this and that God allowed this experience in my life to draw me closer to Him. I know that He wants me to draw on His infinite strength instead of my own. In His strength, all things are possible. Where I am weak, He is strong. Also, God makes all things work together for good (even bad circumstances) because He loves us. ![]() For me, I believe the question to ask should not be "Do I deserve this suffering?" Instead, I need to ask "What is God trying to teach me through this?" or "How can my circumstances be used for good?" In watching the CNN Heroes program last weekend, I was inspired by a young man who lost his legs in a boating accident and while he was still recovering in the hospital, he began a program to provide prosthetic limbs to children in need. He turned his hardship into an opportunity to help others. I'm trying to keep him in mind whenever I feel angry or sad about my condition. I'm really sorry you're going through this and pray you find comfort, hope, and healing soon. ![]() Don |
