Default question for those who are past the initial healing

Have any of you had anxiety or other psychological stresses increase as you got better physically? I still can't run but I'm otherwise doing really well. I am very able to think clearly, etc., work is going great, yada yada.

However, I feel my personality and my level of anxiety in general is really changed. It's not a good comfortable feeling. I realize now that I've never before actually experienced anxiety or depression, just immaturity. This in reality is a brain chemistry anxiety and depression I'm feeling. Wow, I feel so sad for people who deal with this on a real and constant basis.

Absolutely! I am a very social, outgoing person with a lot of friends who would normally go out everynight that i have off and loved big social scenes before my accident. But even though i am "getting better" and some of my symptoms have lessened (although my headaches are awful now that i am back to work) i find that i have tons of social anxiety. The mall, bars, baseball games, even when the morning shift comes in and there are tons of doctors and other nurses filing in the door gives me major anxiety. I have never felt this before and it has totally shocked me that i would change so drastically or experience anxiety and depression. I am taking celexa for those experiences....which normally i would never consider taking an anti-depressant, but pretty much have no choice after this head injury.

Thanks for your posts. It's hard to believe sometimes that we have to deal with this.

I have had anxiety now for about 2 weeks. It's from what I think to be absolutely no REAL reason - just chemical. Ugh. I've never had anything like this before. There's nothing in my life that should create anything but happiness. I keep holding on to that for comfort. I can imagine if something did go wrong, I'd be a bit over the edge. lol.
