My friend is a scientist. She was hit by a truck three weeks ago and is lying down with headaches and vertigo.
She has observed that 1. Rotation is always in the same direction It is the same direction whether eyes are open or closed. 2. Sometimes the rotation is 360deg Sometimes only rotates 30deg Sometimes rotation stops. room is fine. 3. She has one position in which she can rest with a little more comfort. My friend would like to know if a Vertigo specialist could give her some information from these observations. It seems to me that if the vertigo stops at times, the nerve cells cannot be damaged, and if rotation is always in the same direction, probably only one ear is affected. Any suggestion as to how to find a specialist who knows about vertigo symptoms? |

Do a google search for Epley's Maneuver. It will relieve the vertigo, at least temporarily-- if there is another unerlying cause, the vertigo may return, but the Epley WILL at least temporarily relieve the symptom. |

Yes I know about the Epley Maneuver and I told her about it but the doctors did not mention it. Her doctors told her to rest and wait. So she was concerned that doing something might make it worse.
She was talking about hair damage. That is why I would like to know if there is a way to let her know if 1 her problem is with both ears, or just one 2 her problem is with damaged hair or floating items. If I can bring evidence that what she observed makes it more likely to be relieved by the Epley Maneuver, maybe I can get her to ask her doctors -- by email -- as standing up is not really an option for her right now. |
