Sounds like you need to visit the Chief and or the DA. If the Chief doesn't listen, go to the City Manager, Mayor, Council, etc. Keep moving up the chain. Tell them-not only have I been assaulted, now I've been insulted too-by the people who are supposed to protect me.

Keep all your paperwork, if you have to, go to the media. Keep making noise! Good luck.
