Same here, even when I'm not tired.
Overall, I have trouble with conversations. My brain doesn't react fast enough to keep it going...so a lot of times I'll just be standing there blank, trying to figure out what I'm gonna say next.

What happened: I was randomly assaulted from behind in June of 2011. I was knocked unconscious for an unknown amount of time (less than 30 minutes) and have no memory of the event. CT scan showed contusion and hematoma of the left frontal lobe. I spent 3 days in the hospital. Diagnosed with Post-Concussion Syndrome in September 2011. Currently have Medicaid, Medicare and SSI. Current symptoms: Brain fog, mild memory issues, problems with spontaneity, occasional spacing out, word finding difficulties, tinnitus in right ear and some other things that I can't explain. Life after the brain injury: 4 years after the injury, I'm engaged to my beautiful girlfriend of 5 years, I'm the CEO of my own business, Notorious Labs, I've taught myself how to program complex games and apps which is a feat I never thought I'd accomplish and now live a semi-normal life with very mild PCS symptoms. Slowly but surely regaining my life back. |

Yep. And my sentences
get all strung out like this. Much worse than normal.

Knocked heads with my brother (October 2010). Don't worry... he's fine! . Partial list of symptoms: (Physical - noise/light sensitivities, balance problems, headaches, sleeplessness) (Mental - brain fog, severe lack of awareness, difficulty expressing ideas - or thinking in the first place!, struggle with simple problems) (Emotional - anger, depression, inability to handle/control emotions) (Social - generally inept - thanks to everyone for allowing me to "practice" some social and communication skills on this forum) "The person in the mirror wasn't me and I didn't like her either. I have the same problem with the erratic rhythm of speech. My words used to flow like a chocolate fountain! And they're smooth in my head... but choppy like stormy water when they come out of my mouth.
![]() I used to slur and stutter a LOT for months following the initial injury and I sounded like I had a foreign accent. Most of that is gone now. I still feel like a talk a little funny sometimes and the stutter comes back when I am feeling especially tired and worn out. It's nice to look back and recognize that some parts have healed! ![]() |
