Long story short, I was concussed 3 months ago. I still get bad symptoms, mainly headaches, dizziness, memory impairment, hearing difficulties, I struggle to make conversation and my vision blurs quite a lot. I had my CT scan this week, no fractures or bleeding. I am going to be referred to a neurologist. Could anyone enlighten me on what sort of treatment they can offer?

A neuro can't offer much in the way of specific treatment besides teaching you how to manage you symptoms. You may be prescribed some medication. It all depends on the experience and knowledge of the neuro. Most do not have much special expertise in Post Concussion Syndrome.
You may be referred to other specialists for vision or balance/hearing. I am not surprised your CT was negative. Your symptoms do not suggest anything that would show up on a CT. Avoid future CT's if you can. The radiation from a CT is quite high. As many have commented, the combined PCS knowledge of the people here likely match that of most neuros. Let us know if we can be of more help. My best to you.

Thanks
![]() I am so fed up. When I tell my close ones that my head is bad today, they just seem to say 'oh.' I have had a consistently bad headache for 3 days now, triggered by exercise I think. That and weird brain zap/electric shock feelings ![]() ![]() |

Paper,
Have you had the opportunity to explain the problems that are caused by a concussion? I find it helps to educate others so they understand what you mean when you say you don't feel good. You can say "There is too much noise right now." or "I did not get good sleep last night." Post you current symptoms and I can help you explain them in understandable terms. My best to you.

If they will have them watch "You look great parts 1 thru 6" on you tube. I have tried to explain this expierence of mine many times. One can tell from the look, that the other person can not understand. The actual reality is beyond thier comperhension. I feel lucky as my father in law has expierenced this so I know he understands. The other people close in my life are trying to varying degrees of success. Best of luck. Praying for you.
