I have been resting for weeks now hoping to alleviate the relapse of symptoms brought on by overdoing it for 6 months to no avail. I am still having headaches 3-4 times a week, I feel panicked, having big problems running monthly reports and creating the spreadsheets. I am so depressed and feel completely hopeless. My quality of life is hovering at zero. I'm broke, lonely, stressed out, sad and I don't see an end to it.
i would love to go see my neurologist but i have no insurance and her visits range around 250-300 a visit, i already am in collections with her so it's not an option. i am trying to get an appointment with the sliding scale clinic where I can at least see a doctor but they are booked for weeks. i don't know how to get out of this. i don't know what I even want the doctor to do. Headache meds would be nice. The elavil doesn't seem to be working anymore. I'm 2 years out and sliding backwards so fast my head is spinning. Did this happen to anyone else? What did you do to get better? Also - I work full time 4 days in the office and 1 day at home usually around 35-50 hours a week depending and i am a single mom of a 17 year old senior in high school. And - if it can go wrong lately it has. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by andi; 10-09-2012 at 01:08 PM. |

You may benefit from contacting your local agency funded by your state Brain Injury Trust Fund. Here is a link to a pdf document that explains the program. http://health.state.tn.us/statistics...eport_2010.pdf
Tennessee has a poor funding mechanism so it is mostly just case management. Working 35 to 50 hours is not the rest your brain needs. That is quite a work load for a brain that needs rest to heal. I can understand why you are still struggling. Maybe a caseworker can help you find a way to get the rest your brain needs. My best to you.

What was the origin of your injury? If it was an auto or work related there are usually laws protecting you from collections. So sorry for your suffering.

Thanks Mark. I don't have a choice but to work. i don't have a support system. Also my thyroid meds were changed almost 3 months ago so im getting my blood work done to make sure i am getting enough thyroid. the symptoms for low thyroid are very similar to the head injury symptoms so i never really know which one is acting up.
Yes car wreck 2 years ago this last july. i get nothing until the suit is settled. hoping for mediation soon. my lawyer can get me a very high interest loan but that will greatly cut into what money i do get. i have to live on this money a long time. i figured when it does get settled i will pay everyone. im cant and dont care about my credit. it is the least of my problems. i'll quit whining for a while. i need to remember that i am lucky. i should have been hurt much worse than i was. the wreck was bad..so i am thankful. |

We all need to vent sometimes. Internalizing the emotions is a sure way to explode later. This is maybe the best place to talk them out. You will find understanding and compassion here. Vent all you want.
