Thanks again, Concussion.
Best to you.
Sounds like you are taking good care of your brain, and not pushing-it, with even seemingly simple, formerly- enjoyable tasks.

Sincerely,
Theta
Just these past 6 months of forced out of work, have I started to even think about relearning how to get into a new mode of operation - being a new person so to speak.

I don't really know who I am anymore.

Where's my focus anymore.

I start my day sometimes at 2 AM, or 3, or 5, or rarely 6 or 7; mostly 2 or 3; and its sporadic ups and downs from there.

Typing things like this takes time because Im forever corrrecting my constant typos - my type A personality always present still; I'll sit in dark, wondering what to do; start something and stop, cause its early and I can't disturb the family, so the activity has to wait; try to nap - nope, awake again, uncomfortable, blah blah blah.

Anyway, thanks for that test, very interesting.

theta and others,

I have struggles with forms for 12 years. I have found a few tricks. First, use two blank sheets of paper to cover above and below the line you are trying to fill in. The PCS brain can get easily overwhelmed by the page full of blank spaces.

It can also help to have someone else fill out the form by asking you questions. My struggle to fill out forms cost me my Work Comp claim.

the Old Guy was way off base with his claim that your were uncooperative. It just shows the uphill battle you have before you. It helps to have a concise explanation of your struggles. Maybe " If I don't take a break, I will start babbling like an idiot." "I am struggling to keep focus on what you are saying" "You need to slow your speech down. I am struggling to understand what you are saying. Can we take a break or finish this another day?"

You did good by kicking him out but his comments on your records will be interesting. The process of a claim often gets in the way of communicating accurate information.

For everybody, if you can learn how to describe your struggles objectively, it will make a big difference. I can not process people speaking with thick accents. I struggle when there are lots of visual images behind the other person.

I will tell the person I need to close my eyes so can try to focus on what they are saying. Anything that can help them understand your immediate struggle will be a big help.

There are no perfect responses. It just takes a willingness to try to understand your own condition.

btw, I scored 51 49. In the past I would have been probably 75 left 25 right

The UK site "Benefits and work " has some good examples which will translate to most countries benefits systems. An exmple comment from one of their free samples is below

"About three months ago I tried to have a bath when there was no-one else at home. I managed to get in the bath but I slipped and fell while trying to stand up to wash my torso. I was not badly hurt, but it left me feeling terribly shaken thinking how much worse it could easily have been."

The site is there not to help people exagerate their claim put to give people guidance on how articulate their own situaiton.

That was fun. I'm 63% Left 37% Right. Not really a surprise, I use data and analytical tools a lot for work.

What Happened: On November 29, 2010, I was walking across the street and was hit by a light rail commuter train. Result was a severe traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures (skull, pelvis, ribs). Total hospital stay was two months, one in ICU followed by an additional month in neuro-rehab. Upon hospital discharge, neurological testing revealed deficits in short term memory, executive functioning, and spatial recognition.

Today: Neuropsychological examination five months post-accident indicated a return to normal cognitive functioning, and I returned to work approximately 6 months after the accident. I am grateful to be alive and am looking forward to enjoying the rest of my life.

Thanks for your post, results. Just don't strain-or-tax-your-brain to take the test too often! Maybe in 6 months or so you may see different results?

Take good care and don't overdo it this season watching too much crimsontide football on tv ... (A joke, mind ya.)

Best regards,
Theta

Interesting........

My results:

Left Brain Right Brain
56% 44%

I had brain contusion on the left side and very slight on the middle. Seems like I should start using Right Brain more and stop taxing left side

Cheers!
