So far since ive made this thread ive done what i said i was gonna do....no real rest.....5-6 hours of tv a day, always on my phone, exercising, long walks.....i noticed i feel good most of the time but do feel "off" some of the day but if i focus and say to myself ive experienced this feeling before its not gonna kill me it goes away but overall i feel much better that im starting to try get back to normal at this point its a needed push

no way could i have acted like this 8 months ago though. and ive had a cold the last 3 days too so im actually pretty surprised between the cold and PCS ive been feeling ok

the visual symptoms i have like the double vision in left eye and flashing vision doesnt seem to have any signs of slowing though and its bothering the crap out of me

i wonder if i hit a good point in my recovery though because im past the point of resting its been a year and 1 month. i get plenty of sleep and dont party anymore so in my opinion there is nothing else to do other than let time take its place

Good you are feeling somewhat better! What are you doing about your vision? Have you had it properly assessed? For me, getting prisms and doing vision therapy has chamged my life a lot....and I think gave me a pretty big leap forward. I had or have double vision in both directions...horizontal and vertical.
Good luck!

What happened: Legs pulled forward by a parent's hockey stick while resting at the side of the rink at a family skate....sent me straight back. I hit the back of my head (with helmet) on the ice, bounced a few times, unconscious for a few minutes. September 11, 2011. Off work since then…I work part-time at home when I can. It has been hell but slowly feeling better (when I am alone☺).

Current symptoms: Vision problems (but 20/20 in each eye alone!) – convergence insufficiency – horizontal and vertical (heterophoria), problems with tracking and saccades, peripheral vision problems, eyes see different colour tints; tinnitus 24/7 both ears; hyperacusis (noise filter gone!), labyrinthian (inner ear) concussion, vestibular dysfunction (dizzy, bedspins, need to look down when walking); partial loss of sense of smell; electric shocks through head when doing too much; headaches; emotional lability; memory blanks; difficulty concentrating. I still can’t go into busy, noisy places. Fatigue. Executive functioning was affected – multi-tasking, planning, motivation. Slight aphasia. Shooting pain up neck and limited mobility at neck. Otherwise lucky!

Current treatments: Vestibular therapy, Vision therapy, amantadine (100 mg a day), acupuncture and physiotherapy for neck, slow return to exercise, magnesium, resveratrol, omega 3 fish oils, vitamins D, B and multi. Optimism and perserverance.

ive been to two optometrists and one neuro ophthalmologist and they both said my eyes are fine and its all in my brain. i swear if they gave me prism glasses i would be better by now. i wish i could find a pair online and try them for myself

Thumbs up

Good for you!!!Yes a push can be beneficial after you get your vitamins etc together and the concussion runs it course. The first month and half of when I really started pushing, I would pay for it the next day....now 3months after pushing... I push myself till my body says I need to relax which is mainly when I do a lot of driving in a day.

I have been watching tv and computer for long hours in past 3months....I am fine with no increase in symptoms(I don't know how I would do with stress).

I have to walk every other day otherwise I get emotional mess, good diet, meds, and vitamins.

Now I am debating about jumping into the stressful push of taking one 5 week college course.

MiaVita-

Are you taking one class or multiple? I saw something online for a college plan that allowed you to take the courses one at a time and I honestly think I could handle that! More than one class at the same time though and WHOA... I think my brain would appreciate some real usage though after all of this, and my pride could take knowing that it was all still functioning fully up there.
