Hi everyone,
I'm new to this community, so nice to meet you all. I've read a lot of posts over the internet, but I haven't found anyone with the same symptoms as me. 4 years ago I had a head concussion running into a large tree. I had light triggered headaches for 3 months, but thankfully it subsided. Long story short, I feel completely normal most of the time, but once in a while I will have 2-3 days where I am HEAVILY fatigued. I get very sleepy and my head feels dull/flat and I stay in bed and sleep for most of the day, and will only be up only for a few hours. I don't have a fever, but it feels like my brain is shutting down. I feel energy is low all the time. This happens sporadically every month or so, and even more often when I am stressed or like fighting a cold/infection. Last month I had strep throat and my fatigue kicked in too for a whole week. I have been taking fish oil, vitamin B, C, D, CoQ10 everyday for the past years, but the fatigue still happens. So I just want to see if anyone here has heard of similar case, and what seems to help? Anyway, sorry for such a long post, but I am eager to find others that are going through similar symptom. Thanks so much, and blessings to all of you. -Ethan |

Ethan,
Welcome to NeuroTalk. You have found a good place. I wonder if you are having a reaction to an overly busy day that overwhelms your brain. These are not uncommon. You may also be taxing your brain with a food or beverage. Or, it may be a slow build of exhaustion that finally hits critical mass and puts you down. It would help if you keep a journal of your activities and eating. There are usually recognizable triggers to these episodes. Tell us more about your daily activities, the specific amounts of vitamins, especially B's, and any other things about your life that may or may not have an impacts. You will be surprised how a little event can trigger a big problem. Do you ever get a stiff or sore neck ? Neck inflammation, especially in the upper neck, can cause a return of symptoms. Icing your upper neck can be worthwhile. For many, there are no symptoms of a upper neck injury except the fatigue and concussion symptoms. Stay in touch and together we should be able to figure this out. My best to you.
