Default a tea tip!

Hi All,

Chamomile tea!!!!

I am about 9 months PCS, largely recovered. started recovering about 6 months pcs.

I have a little tip that has helped, and continues to help me.

I was drinking a lot of coffee nine months ago, and cut that out as it tampered with my mood, my brain couldn't handle the coffee hit basically, then i started on the green teas! This relaxed my mood, and it tasted great! but then i started to even notice too much of a kick from green tea so I moved on to CHAMOMILE TEA! IT IS GREAT!

Chamomile tea helps with relaxation, and relaxed muscles. It is also a great help for anxiety! which alot of us suffer with.

http://www.timeforwellness.org/blog-...es-anxiety--76

Check out that article. I drink about 3 cups a day, 1 in the morning, 1 after lunch and 1 before bed, which helps with sleep.

Let me know your thoughts

Depending on how strong I make my tea. Yes it makes me a little drowsy, but Id rather be drowsy than tense and anxious, so the other benefits outweighs the drowsiness

Default Happy Herbal Tea!

Hi Peter!

For me, one of the silver linings of PCS is becoming completely caffeine free. Woo HOo! I love all manner of caffeine free herbal teas now and especially peppermint, mint, strawberry, raspberry --- and I have had chamomile tea and made it too.

Have you ever tried that? You can get a chamomile plant and dry the leaves etc to make some tea.

Go herbal tea! Go us!

Symptoms I had: dizziness, light and sound sensitivity, fatigue, tinitis, occasional headaches and migraines,

Symptoms as of 5--2013: poor sleep, tinitis, some confusion /short term memory blanks, balance. The other symptoms are mostly gone, but flare up if I OVERdo something.

Therapy I had: vestibular

3 months in: I could drive more and for longer distances. I felt like a younger, happier version of myself and I feel so blessed to have this feeling.

9 months in and I am working full time. I do get tired, and some sound and light sensitivity from time to time, but mostly I am over most of my symptoms.
I pray every day and I m praying for your recovery.

Over a year in: I can multi task (limited) and have humor in my life. But when I am tired, I am very tired.

Default the plant

When I made my own chamomile tea, I got the plant at a farmer's market. I think you could find one at....maybe a food co op kind of store or.....a green house.

I am feeling better and I think my days are getting more energy. I attribute it to

my morning strawberry tea!!

My kids are so happy I am a caffeine free mom too. Esp. son in college.

Yea! Go us! Healing is possible!

I absolutely love my coffee in the morning. Prior to PCS it was the kick to my day. I usually only drank 1 cup in the morning and 2 at most all day. Now suffering from PCS I limit my coffee to 1/day in the morning. Unfortunately I think I am going to have to give this up given how much anxiety I've suffered through with this concussion. It just isn't worth it. I love coffee and I mean I love it, but I may have to make the switch to green tea soon and eventually herbal tea.

I am interested in growing my own chamomile plant. I do have a green house nearby. I'm sure harvesting your own plant is going to be a lot more healthy and fresh than store bought chamomile tea. Can anyone who has a chamomile plant elaborate a little more on the process? I don't exactly have a green thumb and live in a 3rd floor apartment building so I'd have to keep it inside or out on my patio.

Since my accident I have been in a cycle of feeling better and then relapsing. It has happened many times. Although I think the overall trend is slowly traveling up. My symptoms included headaches, anxiety, sensitivity to light and noise, dizziness, fatigue, confusion, trouble concentrating, brain fog, loss of social interest, irritability, and mood swings.

Many symptoms have since resolved and I am left with slight dizziness, sensitivity to large crowds and busy environments, small amounts of anxiety, and brain fog off and on.

I am currently under the care of a neuropsychologist at the UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Clinic. I am also undergoing balance/vestibular physical therapy to help with my remaining symptoms.

I was curious, too, so I went to one of my favorite garden websites and found the following:

Seems easy enough! Thanks for the inspiration. I think I am going to start a small patch....

Do they just sell chamomile plants at your local home and garden stores? Or do you have to buy them as seeds from the Internet?
