Hi guys,
I thought all was well today when I got up. Slight headache/light head but nothing to speak of. I went for a short boat ride of about an hour. Part way into it the headache started getting stronger and I started feeling a bit queasy along with a bit of gas. Classic seasickness I thought, although totally out of character for me, especially in sheltered waters. When I got off I had lunch- a chicken roll. I felt pretty close to vomiting and that stayed with me for the next eight hours- gas, headache, nausea. Now I know the boat ride brought on the seasickness. The thing is the symptoms were substantially magnified three hours after the boat ride. To the point that when I got home I had some painkillers and went to bed. That was all I could manage. Has anyone had this kind of delayed symptom onset before? Cheers |

I don't know about delayed onset, but I find I can't stand elevators right now.
That up and down motion gets my vestibular system feeling boaty and dizzy and NO! I can't stand them right now. I would do stairs any day than take the elevator. I think the motion in the boat maybe brought on some symptoms for you and well did you eat something too that didn't agree with you? Here's hoping you feel better soon! pm

[SIZE="1"]What happened. I was in a car accident 2-23-2013, and got a mild concussion from it. I had some time off for brain rest, got somewhat better, but slipped into PCS in March 2013. Symptoms I had: dizziness, light and sound sensitivity, fatigue, tinitis, occasional headaches and migraines, Symptoms as of 5--2013: poor sleep, tinitis, some confusion /short term memory blanks, balance. The other symptoms are mostly gone, but flare up if I OVERdo something. Therapy I had: vestibular 3 months in: I could drive more and for longer distances. I felt like a younger, happier version of myself and I feel so blessed to have this feeling. 9 months in and I am working full time. I do get tired, and some sound and light sensitivity from time to time, but mostly I am over most of my symptoms. I pray every day and I m praying for your recovery. Over a year in: I can multi task (limited) and have humor in my life. But when I am tired, I am very tired. |

I find I can get symptoms right away, or I can get them the next day. If I watch too much t.v., I can turn off the set, go to bed not feeling too bad, but the next day I really feel it. I have recently had alot of issues with balance, dizziness and nausea. I came back from a holiday in Daytona beach, which was a really great break. No noise, no phone, no kids, I went by myself, however when I came back, my anxiety level increased dramatically and the dizziness and balance issues seem to come along with it. I am still trying to see if the two relate. It can be a real puzzle figuring out what you did wrong.
Good Luck |

I used to be very tolerant of boat rides. After a concussion in 1994, I have had serious problems with sea sickness. Your brain may have become unable to process the sensations that it could previously process. I have had delayed onset of symptoms like this, too.
