or make sure that you have clean underwear handy for any "leakage" that may occur during seizure. one concussion that i had about 8 years ago, after a car accident, the doctor at the er only asked one question, if i had seen stars after the accident. he said that if i did not see stars there was no way i could have a concussion. the guys in the ambulance that took me, and the other doctor that i saw a day later both said i probably had a concussion.

kevbo,
My comment about clean underwear was so that if you are in a compromising position, you will at least have clean underwear on so your wife can video record the seizure episode.

Well just had the MRI. Was a weird experience. They asked me a few questions about the headaches the injury and the possible seizures before the test. It took about 30-40 minutes. Man that machine is loud and really aggravated my headaches.
Inside the machine was a little mirror where you could see into the office. They told me I would be done in a few minutes, then all of a sudden two people walked into the office, and she came on and said she was going to take a few more images because of my symptoms. After the test, they grilled me about the seizure like symptoms. I mean grilled me. Asked when they started, what they were like ect. It was the weirdest thing, ive never been grilled like that after an xray or ct scan or mri before. Kind of worried me. Also, another weird thing was they gave me a copy of the images on disc before I let, something I usually need to fight them with to get for my records. So, im sure if it was something bad I wouldve heard from now. But of course curiosity got to me, and I looked at the images, in the back area of my head, basically where I hit it, is a nice white spot, in multiple angles and views (side, top, and behind). Not sure if its normal but im sitting here staring at the images and just wondering when the heck I will find out whats up! Anyone have any ideas? I know none of us are Drs, but just curiosity at this point. Hopefully im closer to finding out my issue! |

Nuerologist just called, said 3.0 mri was normal. Awesome! Now I look like a weirdo as to why im having seizures and still having pcs.
Still dont understand what these big white and black spots are on the images though. Dont know if posting pictures is allowed or whatnot, but if you want to see what im talking about I can take a few screencaps, just maybe private message me. I asked person on phone to read the report to me and they wouldnt. I know im sounding a little worked up over it, but I really dont trust WC. |

I was told seizure activity doesn't show (or rarely shows) on an MRI, an MRI/MRA is done to see if something very serious is going on, bleeds etc. they can show scarring/lesions.
Even an EEG (sp) doesn't always show seizures even with people who definitely have them. ( I know, very frustrating) Don't know what those white spots at the back of your head are, my MRA showed at least 7 lesions/white matter on my frontal lobe and I have seizure like activity too. Did you get a written report along with the CD yet? |

No I havent. Im trying to obtain one but its not working out to well right now.
Ive been borderline depression these past few weeks. Close, but kept positive. But after today I think I fell off the ledge after 7 months. My wife now seems to think i must be fine now because mri was "normal." My biggest support person all of a sudden has lost faith in me. If she now thinks im fine (mind you she witnessed me have yet another seizure last night)I can only imagine what my hr dept and dr will think. Its sad to say, but my cognitive therapist is the only one that seems to realize how bad this has effected me. She knows how damaged my cognitive abilities are and she proves it week n week out with my shortcomings. Now im going to look like a big fat liar to everyone else cuz an mri was normal. My dr doesnt seem to give a crap. I just want to feel normal again. I want to not have pounding headaches and foggyness confusion memory issues and seizures. I want to enjoy my life. But I cant yet because im not healed. And now the most understanding person of it all so far, my wife, has given up on me. |
