Default Feels like brain is mildly pushing against my skull

I am 27 years old and 4 months into PCS. I have had a feeling of my brain very mildly pushing against my skull lately. Some kind of head pressure like something is kept on the top of my head, hard to explain. It's a very mild discomfort on the top of head that goes away after resting and getting a good sleep. Can it be mild inflammation? Can anti inflammatory foods like turmeric, pineapple and ginger help in the long run along with B vitamins and fish oil ? Can anybody relate to this feeling?

What diet are you following? Please share

You'd have to each gobs of turmeric to get enough curcuminoids. Why not just take supplements ?

Hi Mark,

I appreciate your reply. I am a bit reluctant to take anti inflammatory supplement without diagnosis of an actual inflammation. And for that to happen I need a doctor who will diagnose and prescribe them. I have realised and as you already know that it's worthless to go to docs when it comes to brain injuries as they just blame many of the symptoms on anxiety and dismiss you. Leave alone suspecting an inflammation and treat it. They also get easily offended when you remind them about a possible cause of the situation..I felt like I am making a fool of myself while doing this..I have stopped talking medical terms in front of a doctor...also my family will never allow me to take any supplements without a doctor's advice..so you see, I am in a fix here..do you think the MRI would have caught the inflammation if it was there ? My MRI was negative

An MRI will not see inflammation. Taking curcumin capsules is quite common. It is good for general health. You could take 2 capsules of curcumin a day or eat almost 15 times that in turmeric powder.

If you have all these barriers to improving your recovery, it sounds like you need to change something to get these barriers down. Supplements are very common and not something that usually requires a doctors recommendation or diagnosis. They are taken to improve general health and also help with recovery. They are not targeted at individual symptoms.

I take curcumin as a general health supplement.

At 27 years old, why are you under such a level of control from your family ?

Hey Galaxy,

Mark is right...(actually about everything and certainly much, much more than me inflammation will not show up on an MRI.

For quite a long time after my concussion I'd feel an intense pressure in/on top of my head, remember lying in the ER and it felt like my brain was swelling more and more.

Mine was early last year and still feel it at times.

Never have got a definite answer as to why from any Dr.

One thing we are all learning is the limitation of MDs, specialists, and ultimately western medicine. I second Mark's and Spike's opinions. Take supplements!!!!
