So, real quick, neuropsych basically said that my attention is that of someone worse than ADHD.
Ok, suggested meds to my neurologist. He waved the white flag today and now im search of another. Long story short, and OTC or supplements to help this? I had previously been on stimulant meds around 5 months ago, but sadly didnt help. Willing to try anything since I think ill be waiting a little bit before seeing a dr. |

I think the neurological mechanism of attention dysfunction from mTBI is different than that of ADHD. I would be cautious about using ADHD meds to treat mTBI attention issues.
Somebody on NT has had attention processing therapy or such.

Thank you Mark, they did treat me originally with ADHD meds and no response. I also had apt as part of my cognitive therapy, sadly the therapist said it did not approve at all. Neuropsych just said that as an example to the extremities of the severe impairment the tbi has caused. Out of curiosity, what lobe of the brain does that come from? He had told me, but its currently alluding my mind.
Was hoping maybe some sort of vitamin or supplement can help. Its one of my biggest gripes, its more annoying than anything tbh. I hear fish oil can help. ps: the lawyer is not happy with how im being mis-treated, he told me to prepare for war. |

For me, I need to take steps to reduce background stimulation/interference. I know that if there is too much other stimulation, my brain will be bouncing back and forth. If my wife wants to talk to me and the TV is on, she knows she needs to mute the sound for me to be able to focus on what she is saying.
I have never found any other solutions. The problem is often that the injured brain has lost its ability to filter out background distractions. This is a physiological change/injury. Learning new ways to stay focused is likely the best solution. My best to you.
