Default Normal or not

Anyone ever feel like they can't differentiate between what is normal and what is not?

Visually I always am a bit messed up, but then I wonder is this "normal" memory slips "is this normal" and yesterday for example I was beyond tired mentally- 2 kids under 2 for the day - when fatigued I felt I had speech issues and recall issues over stimulated but again I doubted that it was my head injury its got to be something else, I feel like this must happen to other people and knowing that might help me let it go.

Thought I would throw it out there it helps to hear from all you guys as this is beyond confusing.

2 kids under 2 can be very tiring, unless they are not mobile yet , once they start crawling or toddling it is a busy time..
I watch grand baby 2x a month for full day he is nearly 2 and we are on the go quite a bit..

People can tell, from my speech, when I'm tired. I'm more inclined to stutter, use the wrong words, etc...

My doc says it's because I have to work harder to do things that used to be automatic. When I'm tired, I just don't have the energy for the effort required.

I felt that way last night when I was around everybody I was really putting in extra efforts speaking, I find closing my eyes helps me find the correct words, I think I have it figured out to the point I no longer stutter or get to stuck. I feel like anxiety is part of this whole picture but I kind of get stuck questioning which came first the anxiety or the concussion or whats causing what, though I clearly remember feeling good right before the injury but it seems so far away

Despite leading a life full of challenges, I absolutely DID NOT have anxiety or depression before TBI.

While I believe a premorbid history of these conditions can exasperate TBI, anxiety and depression are SYMPTOMS of TBI, NOT causes.

I can see closing your eyes helping. I liken it to babies, who fall asleep in loud, bright stores to protect their developing brains from overstimulation. Many TBI patients report a decrease in functionality, or even experiencing something akin to a shutdown, when they feel cognitively overwhelmed.

I have the same issues: speech difficulties, memory slips. I never had speech issues or memory slips like the ones I am having before, so I know they are PCS/TBI related.

Re: stress, anxiety, my brain used to work better under pressure. I was far more articulate/spoke faster, when I was feeling the pressure. Now, my brain just stops working when I am even slightly stressed, and words get stuck, I cannot think, etc.
