I tried knitting about 5 months after the concussion. I got so dizzy, I had to stop. I could not listen to quite music, again got dizzy. I think some people cannot tolerate any activity for a while.

Knitting is two needles. Crocheting is one needle. It may be less stress to crochet than to knit. Plus, any visual issues need to be addressed before trying either.

Check the town where you live. For instance, we have the Eastern Shore Institute of Lifelong Learning. They offer free/ inexpensive classes on history/ bible studies, flowering arranging, art/ photo, cooking, soap making, sewing/ quilting/ crochet. The list goes on. Looking to do one of these myself!

Try this: http://crochet.about.com/od/learntoc...-beginners.htm

or this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqca00LdmAc

It is really a lot of fun and fairly easy once you get the hang of it. You can find lots of free patterns at Ravelry.com as well.

I've started painting. I'm not very good at it so i just paint abstract paintings on canvas for around my home. i just go on pint rest and search abstract art for ideas and copy bloggers DIY art idea since I'm not very creative. Ive actually gotten a lot of compliments, some friends even think I've bought the art

Check out your local senior center. They may not teach it but I bet there is someone there who is willing to teach you.

I too tried to find ways to pass the time...

Here are some ideas: Audiobooks, Podcasts (free), low impact exercising, try to work part-time if you can (work from home is possible too, flux is a great app for those with light sensitivity), read short blogs and news articles.

Depending on your condition A COMPETENT vestibular physical therapy might benefit you, particularly for issues relating to dizziness, balance, and dealing w/ crowds.
