Default Mental/Energy "crashes"

I know everyone experiences some form of fatigue, for myself I feel like it just hits me, and I am unable to do anything but lay down, I wonder if its a silent migraine type thing, but my eyes finally just stop accommodating all the stimuli and I get BEYOND tired, anyone have similar experiences, I know rest relax unwind don't use up the energy, but just curious what it feels like for everyone else and if they go away come and go what all your triggers are.

Take care all!

I will be working on my laptop in my easy chair and often, while waiting for a page to load, will close my eyes for a moment. Lights out for 5 or 10 minutes.

If you are having such fatigue, have you considered your sleep. Are you breathing properly during your entire sleep period ? The upper neck injuries common to concussion can cause inflammation that interrupts the autonomic nervous system causing breathing to go haywire. I had this problem for years while I worked on healing my upper neck. I had to maintain straight neck posture while resting and sleeping or my breathing would stop. This cause me to have very stressful dreams and wake up feeling groggy.

Until I healed and learned how to minimize my breathing problems, the fatigue was very problematic.

Default you're not alone!

I had my accident Apr/2014 and about late Feb this year I thought I was on he upswing of things, not feeling like I had to take a nap at 10 in the morning. Well, I think I overdue it hen I felt exceptionally well rested and stayed up till 2am. Then not resting the next day. Wrong.

I caught a slight cold the next day then felt absolutely worn down mentally and physically for the next 3 days. Memory was really bad, foggy and so forth. It was the absolute worst week I ever had since my accident. Now I have to keep reminding myself to PACE myself. Now I'm still trying to get to where I was in February. VERY FRUSTRATED but keep telling myself that things could ALWAYS be worse. PACE yourself, don't drive yourself too hard. (Easier said than done

Jesme is certainly right about how vicious even the slightest bug can be--it can feel like it is setting you back weeks! I had the same thing Jesme and it was horrible; I'm sorry you have to go thru it.

It's kind of weird to say but the depression that accompanies PCS for so many of us I'm realizing may be a good thing to a point. It forces you to rest and heal.

Now that my doc has me on the right meds and my energy is back, I am having to relearn how to listen to my body and stop and rest. It's not easy.

One sign I've noticed for me seems to be my eyes. When I start to get more sensitive to light (than I already am) and begin squinting then I need to know to stop.
