barghati,
Welcome to NeuroTalk. It is odd that you only sporadically sense this dizziness. Have you tried journaling your activities, diet, sleep, etc to see if there is a pattern ? How long do these episodes last ? |

Hi mark thanks for answering I think the dizziness occurs when I am physically tired or the ringing in my ears gets louder its just when im walking I get like a wobble maybe its not a dizziness but an unsteadiness its exactly 2 years since my injury do you think this could be another health problem

Hi Barghati,
Times when I am at my most tired are when I am most likely to have recurrences or increases of my symptoms. I think it's a sign that I have overdone it and it's time to rest. Or possibly if it's when you're walking, there are a lot of extra stimuli and your brain is having trouble processing it all. I wonder if vestibular therapy would help? Of course I can't speak to any other health issues you may have, but that is what happens for me. Welcome! Julie

About me: Married 45yo mother of two girls. In July 2014, I hit my head on the side of the pool; since then I've had 3 lesser concussions, one of which was due to MVA. For the 5-10 years prior to that I’ve had what I now realize were possibly 20+ undiagnosed concussions or sub-concussions. Likely most of these result from Duane's Syndrome, for which I now have prism glasses. Have successfully done vestibular therapy and plan to start vision therapy. Current companions: Significant depression, anxiety, hyperacusis, difficulty with verbal expression (recall & word mixups), mild spacial/vestibular issues. Feelings of disconnect in relationships. |

I too find that if I am tired I am more acutely aware of my symptoms. I write backwards, lose track of what line I am reading, lose track of conversations, run into door jams, falling over, light sensitivity, etc....I can ignore most of it unless I am tired or chronically stressed.

I am 2 years post concussion and still have most PCS symptoms. Some days it is much worse. I agree about journaling to see what is aggravating yours.
For me it is lack of sleep, doing too much, and being over stimulated. As a mother and the only one to do anything I pretty much deal with all 3 of these aggravators every day. |

Like KOM, this sounds to me like it's a function of poor sleep and/or over-stimulation. For me, everything is worse following these occurrences and the only time I get dizzy/disoriented now happens following intense activity engagement.
The journal is a good idea as it may help you track this. I map my headaches and other symptoms using a headache calendar, and layer my activities over this. For my treating doctors they could then easily understand how activity impacts my day-to-day well being. |
