I have an update today:

I actually got to see an ophthalmologist today. Apparently at our hospital here they accept walk-ins, I was not aware of that. So I went today since I was feeling particularly bad again. Had the vision issues along with pressure and a headache, so I wanted to get it checked right away instead of waiting another week and a half.

The doctor couldn't find anything wrong. I was worried when I first went in because I described my blurry symptoms and he said that sounded unusual, in lieu of the fact that my vision is 20/20 when I'm wearing my contacts/glasses. So he sent me in to get pictures of the my eyes, and after looking at the pictures he said my eyes look great. The optic nerves were fine, and nothing else seemed to be off.

So basically, he said the good news is that I don't have anything that I should severely worry about, because there's nothing wrong that would suggest otherwise, so my fears about going blind or whatever were eased. He told me I could sleep easy tonight.

The only problem I always have with nothing being found is that I still don't have a concrete explanation for why I'm feeling the way I am. The doctor outright said he doesn't know why I'm feeling the way I am since there's nothing wrong with them. I'm guessing it's all definitely still related to my head symptoms then, but not knowing for sure always bothers me. So, now I play the patience game again, waiting for my brain to keep recovering.

Oh well. Still great news that there's supposedly nothing wrong with my eyes!

Or, you could just accept that this is the way things are and move forward. Focusing on the minors is a good way to miss out on the many things you could be doing in your life. Anxiety is great at screwing up a life.

A "I'm not going to let this stop me" attitude will take you a long way.

Hi Duece,
Our Opthmalogist told my daughter the same thing after her eye exam...but then he said that she couldn't have had a concussion because there was no LOC. At any rate, we are in Northern CA and CAL Berkeley eye center took us and more was explained. She does have light sensitivity and has to wear dark sun glasses when out side. If she goes too long without them, then this will start migrainous vestibular headache. (nausea, pain etc)

They did correct her vision with prism glasses. (she could not read for very long or else this would cause the same type of headache with fatigue).

I would find a neuro opthamalogist...one with concussion experience. You might want to call CAL Berkeley and see if they can locate someone with experience near you.

Good luck,

There is a national association of neuro-ophthalmologists what may have a referral system. It was mention on this forum many times a few years ago.
Here is one I found.

Default vision issues

Look for a behavioral optometrist-- they are skilled in diagnosing the specific PCS issues. My regular doctor found nothing, yet I now have prism lenses and still some major convergence, suppression and exotropia issues persisting for months.

Definitely check with a neuro-optometrist. They specialized in eye issues related to brain injury. In some cases, prism glasses help for double visions. Vision therapy (4-6 months) is usually recommended if you have convergence insufficiency.

Hope that helps. Best of luck!
