Has anyone had an atypical result from the gamma knife surgery? Such as head pain, facial pain, or anything else?
Just curious. Also, has it worked for anyone who's had a microvascular compression on the trigeminal nerve? Thanks. |

Hi Omariffic,
I had the gamma knife radiation about a month before I had my microvascular decompression. I'm not sure what you mean by atypical results, but I had always had the sharp stabbing pains before my gamma knife. Afterward, I still had the sharp pains only not as bad, but an intense burning pain started in my jaw, teeth and cheek area which I never had before. Also the back of my head was swollen and painful for a good month after my gamma knife. I was not feeling any better after my gamma knife and that's why I decided to have the mvd procedure done. I hope this helps you. Laureen |
