I had read that 1800mg is considered an optimum dose and that little improvement can be expected by taking more. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about the efficacy of higher doses? I really dont want to change medications if possible as gabapentin has so few side effects. I found Tegretol to either work brilliantly, or not work at all, or give me horrible dizzy spells. I think it must be hard to get the levels exactly right.

would love to hear from anyone with similar experiences.
If I remember correctly, my neuro said 1800 mg. is high but not that high. I think some people even go up to 3200 mg. I think if you were to increase the dose it would be ok, and even give you the relief you're looking for.
