Default MVD for someone young with TN

I have had typical TN for about three years now and am only 22 years old. It was not until four months ago that they found out that my pain was TN so I went through the process of going to my PCP, dentist, and oral surgeon for answers before being diagnosed by my neurologist four months ago.

I have been on three different seizure medicines with not much relief at all and my pain has been getting worse. Two weeks ago i was in the hospital for 8 hours trying to get some sort of pain relief. I have never had pain that severe and I am so afraid of it coming back.

I went to my neurosurgeon just last week who had said that yes MVD is probably the way to go but was hesitant because he is not sure that it will be successful because of my age. I was hoping to find out if anyone around my age has had a successful MVD surgery.

I am desperate for help and am hopeful that this surgery will work, I just wanted to get others personal stories with the MVD surgery.

THANKS!!!
