Also ask the neuro about the possibilty of Ramsay Hunt syndrome and Zoster opthamalicus, a possible zoster infection on the trigeminal nerve that affects eyesight. It can occur with no rash symptoms at all. It can also cause encephalitis and head pain (cranial palsies) if severe.
