Hi guys,
I have to take a short course of Pred and I know it raises blood sugar. So other than cinnamon any other suggestions to help control it. |

--the cinnamon suggestion. Not harmful, and tasty.
Is it possible you can get more weight bearing exercise? That, more than aerobic exercise, seems to help insulin get into cells and "normalize" blood sugar levels. There is always the possibility of using alpha-lipoic or R-lipoic acid, but then we're starting to talk about things with more systemic effects that may impinge on other systems. |

Thank you both!
Great chart Mrsd. I am taking a course of Pred for cluster hedaches. Its only 10 days but I really do not want to gain weight or mess up anything more. |

Well, I am sorry you are having problems.
I have a link on headache... with this useful excerpt on headache diagnosis. I attended a long conference with Dr. Newman as a presenter: http://books.google.com/books?id=FqS...age&q=&f=false Page 62 Item #10 addresses Cluster HA. You can scroll within that link to read the other types. Here is another link with treatment options defined. http://www.guideline.gov/summary/sum...=6582&nbr=4142 We were told that cluster HAs occur seasonally and that melatonin in high dose can help with this. I am so sorry you have this, as it is very painful and resistant to treatment!

Thanks Mrsd for the links, very helpful.
Yeha not sure yet why the headaches...either related to nerve damage from that HSV1 virus or from the dental surgery I had a year ago that made some TMJ issues much worse. Add on top of that the frozen shoulder on the left side and its a perfect headache storm. We'll see how this pans out. Just want the headaches to stop  I have some good docs on the case I think. |
