Default Sunday

GOOD MORNING!

I am starting off today trying to be in a good mood. My husbands birthday is Tue and he has meetings on the coast all day Monday, so we are going down today to play at the casino where his meeting is. I am going to try and fake it as long as I can then crash in the room.
I actually did crash last night in my kitchen. I have a office chair I use to do my kitchen work and it rolled one way and me another way last night...ouch.
Wish me luck at the casino, maybe I will win a ton of money....yeah right.
Hope you all have a good day.
Karen

Good morning KareBear and all whom are yet to be named~

Your owie sounds like, well, an owie! Ya gotta be more careful girl!! Tell that chair to be better behaved!! Jeez Louise anyhoo!! I know how that is though--ya get going at warp speed and things just happen..... I hope you didn't do something too bad....

The casino sounds fun!! I don't go to them much cuz I used to be a cocktail waitress at one and saw WAY too many people lose WAY too much money. It left an impression on me--that's odd. In fact, it's kinda a tradition around here that when kids reach 18 that that's what they do is go to the Indian casino to celebrate. When my kids did, the last thing I said to them as they headed out the door was "Have fun, be careful, and I hope you lose!" Seriously. That way they didn't wanna go back the next day and "win" again, etc.

I hope your body can take a little bit of being together with hubby--it's so nice having together time away. Just don't overdo too much. We all do, but just watch it a little!

I'm not doing too much today. I'm here alone--right now listening to Christmas songs. Have no fear--the Vikings are on at noon!

I have a confession though guys. I made a chocolate layered desert for my dinner date on Friday night that got canceled cuz they called the family home for his mom in the nursing home. Anyway, it made a 9 X 13 pan. BAD JAN...BAD!! I gave my girlfriend a plateful, and Laura ate a couple of pieces, and Hailey ate one, and um..... last night at 7:30 I hadta take the last plateful over to the neighbor guy, or I woulda eaten that too. (I feed him all the time and he does "guy stuff" for me.) I ate the rest!! Felt SO guilty I came home and did a walk. Probably didn't even walk off ONE piece of that rich desert!!

I am addicted to food! If I know it's out there, I just hafta eat it! I am a food-a-holic! We talked about this one other time---somewhere. I actually get excited when I know there's something "good" out there to eat. How sick is that? Jeesh.

Well, just had to get that off my chest. I hafta get back on my "D", that's all there is to it.

Hugs,
a guilty LS

Dear Jan,
don't be too too hard on yourself....
at least the desert is gone now and not a temptation anymore.
It sounds like you gave away a lot of it and you could have eaten the whole thing right!
so you did show some restraint...good for you.
((((HUGS))))

Default Hi Karin, Jan & Bizi~

I had a dinner for my pastors family. We are about like a family. If it wasn't for them I would had some lonesome Sundays. Everybody else just does there own thing. They help me all they can and I do appreciate it.

Jan, the choclate cake does sound good. We had a Strawberry Pie. It was good. I am just so thankful to have friends to spend Sunday with. They can get lonly when you are alone. I have been there too. Well I still have to go out to the farm yet because I need to gas up. See ya!
Hugs,
Billie

I am telling myself that tomorrow is THE day to begin again....mr.alffe suprised me with a new Curves membership (I wonder what he's trying to tell me) It seems so silly to start anew with Thanksgiving looming ahead....pie and stuff! There's always some good reason to eat.

My downfall is carbs....I love carbs...can pass the sweets but bring on the noodles, and mashed potatos w/gravy...did I mention warm rolls with lots of butter?

Default Bring on those carbs. . .

Alffe - I'm with you, the more carbs the happier I am. On a cruise, at dinner they come around first thing with baskets full of hot rolls, all different kinds. And then, of course, you have to have lots of butter to do the rolls justice. So you eat all these rolls and then salads come, then dinner, then the dessert. I should have told them I had a special diet and could only eat rolls with butter and desserts. And I have a secret passion, I have only given into once as an adult. It is putting hot gravy on top of homemaid white bread. To die for. . .

Obviously I need a reality check besides a good diet.

Jan, the cake or bars or whatever you cooked sounds yummy. I am a pretty good cook but I don't bake. Probably a good thing. I played at the Indian casino kind of by Jordan, MN and we were all done in about half an hour! I don't gamble here hardly at all.

Mrs Q - Bless your heart, you've given me the idea of using an office chair to get around the kitchen. Marvelous idea, I will try it tonight!.

Sure was nice to get so many responses today! Enjoy your evenings, all.

Question I got a feeling Christmas will be hard~

Your right Alffie, tomorrow is another day. Don't be so hard of yourself. I like carbs & rolls too, and had then for dinner today. I went shopping this evening. I didn't want to, but I wanted to be sure and get a ham. My SIL is fixing a turkey, I don't do bird! There are a lot of people out there shopping. I don't buy for many so it can be done in one shop. I usually drag it out longer because I love this time of the year.

I don't know how I'll handle Christmas. This is my first year without Bob. They are having to memorials this year the same day, just an hour apart. Soooo, I'll have to make my mind up which to go to. They aren't in the same town. I hope I can do ok, but I don't know. I chock up just thinking about it. no more Christmas'es with the one I spent 47 years with. He was my true love. Now I do have a lump in my throat. You see, I can talk myself into it.
Hugs,
Billie

Oh honey!
The first year is the toughest. Bob will always be with you in your heart; always. It gets a little better as the years go by. It's still not great for me and it will be 22 years.
Just do the best you can, and it's ok to miss Bob. You had 47 years with him so of course you will sweetie, and it's ok. Take it one day at a time. Just remember we are all here for you when you need us! Take care of YOU!
Huge hugs,
LS

Thumbs up Thanks Jan~

Most of the time I am not like this. I have allowed it once and a while for a breaking down and building up again. I gave my tree away for it was to big for where I am now. I am going to buy a new smaller tree. I have already declorated the whole house and it looks good.

Jan, I don't know how you got threw the first year. You were so young. At least I knew it was coming. When you are young you think you will live forever. I seen that in the couple that was here last night. He was thirty one and she was younger. They told me they were planning to raise there family on our farm. I couldn't of picked a nicer family, not by accident, but by the grace of God. I had nothing to do with it, it was in Gods plans. I didn't even advertise the house to anyone else. I have told them to, how nice I think they are, and he said to me last night, that he thought I had the nicest smile. he said, I was always smiling. I hope we can become friends, well we already are. He has even offered to come over next weekend and help move furniture.
I may let him for I want the rest of it down stairs, so I can clean it up.

They may even take my cats. Can you believe that? If I can't give them away I plan on leaving at least 40 pounds of dry food there. I think I will bring 2 into town and keep them pinned up for a while. The traffic will scare them to pieces. I have the cutest shed that is built like a play house. I bet Hailey would like it. Well I have rambled on long enough. I will sign in, in the morning, then I have to be gone all day. A dumb o'le Dr appointment.
