hi all,

i just got an updated computer. my brother bought me a newer refurbished I-mac with a video camera. it's still covered for 3 yrs thru apple care and when i move i can do video conferences with the family. cool.

i've been in for a few days because of the weather but this wk i go out.
massage tomorrow. i went to google to look up massage therapists for St. Augustine, FL and about 15 people came up. i'm going to have my therapist pick several that she thinks might do her kind of work. then i can make a few calls and maybe even set up an appt for when i get to FL.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE,

i just had my last PT appt. i'm officially released but i have to keep up the exercises myself. that will free up a lot of time. next wk i have to start doing a lot of things.

i'm taking the request to break my lease to the office.
i also need to pack some boxes to UPS to send ahead of me to FL. like the sliders and linens for the bed, towels, nite lites etc. so when i hit the deck i can function. i'm also sending sensitive paper files and jewlery that i don't want to give to the movers.

i'm pretty tired but my pain levels are still down. that's a good thing.

anyone have any big plans for next yr? and big projects?

Happy New Year! No plans for today except putting away my decorations. Weight is still stable and that surprises me with all the holiday food.

Judy, glad your pt is over! I can't believe how fast the time is going. Your move is coming up fast!

well things are moving ahead on the move.
i've done a lot of research online and the BBB site to get options for movers and auto transport. i had written down about 5 movers but whittled it down to 2 after i saw that some weren't even on the BBB site. same with the car transport.

and, the BBB rates the businesses A-F. i chose the A's, of course.
hopefully this wk i'll make those decisions. i have to make tons of calls tomorrow.

i also got 3/4 of the bedroom done. 1 more corner and then i start on the big closet. OY.

i'm doing a lot but i'm happy to say that with pacing my stamina is holding up. i turned in the letter to break my lease and will probably hear about that this wk, hopefully. there's so much i need to orchestrate. the movers, the hotel room, a car, doing a walk thru, getting my housekeeper to clean my apt and then getting on a plane.

i had lunch with a friend today and she gave me the nicest gift. 2 books with lots of CO pictures; the mtns, the snow etc. and she made me a little CO memory book of pictures and CO postcards. this sat is lenora brkfst day too.

i think i may have found a pain doc too. i plan on making as many advance appts as i can before i move. all set up for april. did i say that i found a massage therapist? she's got 30 yrs exp. and she does lymphedema work. i still have to find an internist.

so much work and so little time.

i saw my neuro today and he said he'd get copies of my records and write a referral letter to the Mayo dr. i got a call yesterday from mayo. they said they'd accept me as a pt and told me the dr's name. i'm on the waiting list but by the time i move i should have an appt date. and i wouldn't ordinarily see my neuro now til june.

i know mayo isn't the end all and be all but there were only 4 neurologists in st. augustine and i didn't like the credentials on 3 of them. the 4th said they weren't taking new pts. i'll keep calling back because i think it may be the best for me to see someone closer to home.

i decided on a mover and she's coming tues to look at the apt. i have to empty my storage locker downstairs and my wonderful neighbors from downstairs said they'd help me. i've known kevin since he was born. great kid.

i still havn't decided on the car but i will next wk.
now it's time for a nap.

It seems your plans are really moving along. Im glad your pain seems
to be under control. I am just soooo excited and happy for you.

My weight remained stable thru the holidays. I have lost a pound since
the first so I am down a total of 47 pounds.

Today I am getting the wii fit. I am hoping to be able to start some yoga.
I figure if I cant do some of the stuff, I wont. At least I wont be wasting
money on a class or feeling pressure to try moves I know I cant do.

Im going to talk to the PT today when I go and see if this might work.
My hip and back were really flaring last night, I think its because when
my first grader had the flu earlier this week, I tried carrying him to
the bathroom. ugh...stupid and more stupid....couldnt really do it.

So anywho,......wishing you continued success with your move!

it's been awhile since i posted, i think.
the days are going by fast now.

i'm heavy into sifting thru my apt and now ONLY have the BR closet to do.
i'm organizing and reorganizing space which has become at a premium.
i brought all the stuff up i had in my storage locker. mostly grocery baskets and luggage. then i emptied the car.

i have another mover coming to give me a binding estimate on monday so at least i'll have something to compare.

the quote for a full pack and move was exorbitant so we reworked our plan.
now we're going to go with us packing unbreakables and the mover packing furniture, electrics and all breakables. we're going to use used boxes at half price. i'm also going to get some space bags for linens, bedspreads etc. and, i can pack clothing into all the luggage pieces i have.

it's unfortunate but they can't maneuver an 18 wheeler into this apt complex. i don't like it but they said they'd have to use what they call a shuttle and then transfer everything. boo hoo. but all the goods will be insured for replacement value.

plus, the van will still be around $900.
i am more at ease since i found (after research) a family practice pcp, a pain/rehab specialist and the mayo clinic. all are board certified. the other drs i'll need i'll find later.

so my head is spinning. right now is nap time.
hope you're all ok. my time on the board is going to be limited for a bit because i'm so tired, and busy. and i can't sit here very long. but, i'll be back as much as i can. i'll let you know when my computer will be packed. it's the unpacking i'm not sure about.
