it's been a while since i've posted so thought i would.

my coccyx pain con't and it's still hard to sit. my new massage therapist thinks it's actually a muscle. she worked on the area for a while but the pain afterward was bad.

i'm having more trouble with my eyes again. the eye dr said that after cataract surgery (why don't they tell you this before the surgery???) a membrane can regrow over or behind the implant like your body is trying to grow the cataract again. and mine is. so they have to do a minor laser surgery in the office to fix it. then it doesn't come back. that'll be happening 5/1.

cathy is coming sunday and a bunch of us (sisters) are going away for a wk and she'll be staying another wk after that. it will be so nice to see her. been too long.

i had both eyes corrected with the laser and it all went well.
now i'll be able to help my friends thru it when it's time for them.

cathy's visit was great. i was in a lot of pain when we were away (it's always something isn't it?) but it was still a very nice trip. we went shopping, out to eat, grilled in and went to the Tiffany museum in orlando. beautiful.

she has finally got a buyer for her NJ hse and signed a contract. she and patti will definitely be here permanently by nov. and our dream will become a reality. we'll never have to say goodbye again.

my butt is still bad. no one can find out why or fix it. i can't sit at the computer more than about 15". errrrr

i've been making a concerted effort to drop some wt. this is the first time in many months that i've felt like really trying. my neuro wanted me to consider surgery and gave me a referral. they sent me their info packet but i won't qualify because i only have 60# to lose and they want 100. gee, what a problem to have eh?

so i saw the positive in that and decided to try. i've cut out most of my nite time eating, the worst culprit and cut sweets. i've actually lost 8#.
at first i didn't believe it because i lose and then gain but now i believe it.
maybe i'll be a new skinny butt after all.

Nice to hear you got your eyes corrected. That must me great. I still wear the glasses. Good for you that you lost 8. Maybe you will be new skinny butt. I did it, so can you. I didn't qualify as I only had 60 to loose too. Did that and now am stable at around 135. Good luck and keep trying. My weakness is eating cookies in the middle of the night. I still like to do it! ginnie

hi guys, long time no post. guess that's because things have been relatively stable.

my pain situation has been the same. i had switched from baclofen to zanaflex and that was helping a bit more. but then the dr discovered that it could react with my heart med to cause a life threatening arryhthmia. so back to bac.

my coccyx pain can be bad so can't sit too much still. i'm like a little old lady. don't go anywhere without my cushion. my friends just accept me. they are wonderful.

i feel awful for my gulf coast friends getting Issac. has anyone noticed that my spelling skills have gotten worse??????

my friend is still on track to move here in Nov. we are all counting the days.
how wonderful to really have her here.

oh...i've been volunteering at the hospital for a yr and that's how old the NICU is. they just decided to let volunteers work in there and they picked me!!!!! i am soooo excited. it's been 7 yrs since i resigned my RN job in the NICU in denver and now i'll be able to hold babies again.

i start thurs and will let you know how it goes. i just can't wait. i have so much to be thankful for.

my coccyx pain is quite bad and i can't sit at the computer very long.
they can't find the cause and we now think it's muscular but nothing has helped.
it's interfering with my quality of life and my sleep. and my muscle pain in general is bad. by the time i go to bed i have trouble getting comfortable i'm in so much pain. i'm on pain meds with limited results.

thankfully my neuro said i don't have to take the C anymore. that's good news as i'm now on insulin. my oral diabetes med was causing kidney damage and when we stopped it my sugars went up. rats.

my friend comes for good 1/12! i'm so excited to have her here, finally...after almost 3 yrs waiting.

otherwise things are status quo. always fighting my weight but it's the same.

well, call me crazy but i just ordered a custom made and fitted chair cushion for $332! i saw the video online and it's pretty high tech. oops. i was going to say the Comp but i think that's against the rules. anyone?

i may get it the end of the wk so i'll let you know. if this works it'll be worth a million$$$$$.

i have been in dire pain at nite, can't sleep, can't stay in bed and can't sit.
i need one of those little baby stretchy things that hang so you're not laying or sitting but bouncing up and down. OY.

i did have my massage therapist work on the area and it's helped but i'm never out of pain.

I hope the new cushion gives you some relief....really crossing my fingers for you.

hi all,

last wk i was in the ER in the evening with an episode of AFIB.
it lasted an hr at home & of course by the time i got to the ER it had converted.
i had called my dr and he insisted i go in case the underlying cause was more serious.

all the tests were WNL; ekg, labs, cxr etc. for some reason i get the attack about 7pm; couldn't be during office hrs. thank goodness cathy was here and took me to the hosp. and thank goodness they were able to get me in quickly. so no 1 in the morning wait.

anyway, i'm fine. hopefully it won't happen again for a while.
and, my BS's (blood sugars) are much more reasonable on the insulin. i'm also doing better with what i eat after dinner. i've actually had to decrease the dose because my am sugars are too low.

i forgot to say that with these epidsodes i'm SOB; short of breath, and i have chest pain. i told my nursing friend and she said "so what part of chest pain & SOB wouldn't send you to the ER?????

duh, i'm a nurse. i should know better.

Nancy, how scary! I'm glad you're okay. You know, I've always heard that doctors and nurses are the worst ones to get to go to the doctor or hospital. Maybe ya'll know something we don't?? Anyway, I'm glad you're alright and if it ever happens again.....please don't wait. Go to the ER!!
