Default Hi Nurse Nancy

Sorry to hear you got that virus. My son works in a facility he is an OPTA. He said at least 10% of the people have this virus. He has been lucky so far.
Glad tohear that your biopsy was negative. My nodes are not growing or in any way hurting. I know that is a load off your shoulders. Now just get strong, and enjoy those showers. Yes that first one after a hospital stay is divine... Get well. ginnie

just to let you all know that my cardiac ablation is set for june 24th.
i'll be in the hospital overnite and expect things to go well. but, i'm still scared they won't. my friend is coming with me to keep an eye on things.

at least i'll have some fun beforehand. this Sat. we have antiques roadshow tickets! i'm so excited. i have some porcelein that belonged to my grandmother. 1 says limoges on the back. the other is a nippon vase that is japanese. i also have a gold pin that belonged to my grandmother. it has pearls around it and in the middle is a colored picture of a victorian looking lady. maybe i'll even be on television. i'll let you know.

the wk after that we're going to the ballet to see a midsummer's night's dream.

IF i'm off the board for a bit i'll let you know how things go. the dr said it will take a few wks for me to recover.

have fun at the road show! that always looks like so much fun!
and good luck with the ablation...that however doesn't sound like any fun.
Is this treatment for atrial fib?

here it is sunday and recovery is going slow, as expected. i know the MS is partly to blame. my body is under an onslaught of healing and pain and i'm depleted.

thank God the actual procedure was successful. i'm having a lot of ectopi (abnormal heart rhythm) as my heart heals from the areas of cautery. i'm extremely fatigued. i can sleep whenever i want so that's what i'm doing.

the hematoma which originated in my groin is pretty massive; going across my abdomen and wrapping around my leg, down to my knee; well you get the picture. it's a nasty purple, swollen and hard all at the same time. the pain is massive also. what a matching set!

my drs are pretty oblivious to how much pain i'm in. at my worst i'm reduced to physically shaking and my teeth to chattering. they're sympathetic but no one knows how to or does take appropriate action. "just take the percoset as directed". what??? 2 a day?????

so i'm doing what i can. getting thru 1 day and 1 thing at a time. hmmmm, didn't someone i know say that?

Judy, your ordeal sounds terrible! I'm glad someone is there with you. Did the doctor give you any idea how long the hematoma will be there? Seems they could give you something more for the pain. If it were them or someone close to them I'm sure they'd be rethinking the Percocet script.

my cardiologist said to expect 6 wks for most resolution of the hematoma.
no dr wants to touch pain mgment and meds.
i'm calling my pain dr tomorrow for an appt. i'm due for a visit anyway to renew the script.

back to help but not what i would term real mgment.

well, it's now been a month since my cardiac ablation and i'm finally starting to feel like myself. i had a massive clot in my groin and deep purple bruising from my hip down to my calf. really bad hematoma.

my leg still hurts but is much better. i actually got back on the dreadmill yesterday and am going to try and do some walking. the dr says it will take another 2 mos for my heart to heal. my arrythmic episodes have all but disappeared.

and, the 24th will be my 5 yr breast cancer survival anniversary. yay!
