Some really great songs.
I still at times hum the song Downtown. I remember when I first heard it I was doing something with a group of girl scouts. I believe I was downtown in another town but the irony of the song stuck with me. I love the songs of the monkeys too. Donna ![]() ![]() |

I still come in here, and listen to Petula Clark's songs,"Downtown",and "It's a sign of the times". I couldn't sleep, and I came in here resently to listen to these two songs on Youtube.
"Downtown" was popular with the young, and old alike. They played that song threw the mid 60's. I was a kid. They bring back good memories to me also. I thought about this song,"Like a bridge over troubled water" late last night. I really enjoyed that also. BF ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The WhistlerThe first song i posted (Skating Away...) is from the album Warchild... which is the only album i had access too for a good while (now i have only Youtube). here is another: The Third Hoorahthe above used to be my favorite from Warchild, not sure if it would still be today if i reheard the whole album. but i love the baroque folk sort of feel to it. in all of their music i love the rhythms and blends of various instruments, notably some percussive instruments and of course Ian Anderson's trademark flutework. ~ waves ~ |
