Really. The tourist's industry are not happy with the news about Hawaii. They had 1,to 3 inch hail stones also. I think that's what they said on the news. BF:hug::hug::hug:

WE have another storm headed our way. The small town of carencro that had 15 inches of rain last week can not deal with another storm...they were handing out sand bags in preparation for the storm. IT is a slow moving storm and is west of us right now. likely to hit this evening and all day tomorrow.
So there are flash flood watches all over. bizi |
flashflooding
Dear Bizi
i hope that storm is kind to you. I dealt with flash flooding in California. it happened about every winter because it would rain non-stop for like 2 weeks, and the ground there was so dry (never rained rest of the year) it couldn't absorb the water. it is not fun! :( one time it was particularly bad. i did not have sandbags and had water creeping up my doorsteps. it completely covered the lawn, my porch (a step up in concrete), and there were 2 steps to my apartment. luckily it didn't get past the second step... (but only by an inch!!!) streets became rivers. foiled my attempt to go to my night-time hangout ... my favorite Barnes and Noble. "can't get there from here" dealy. approaching where i would have made a left turn, i came to a huge lake where the intersection should have been. A poor traffic cop was standing in the middle of the "lake," getting everyone to turn right, as that was the only direction where the water tapered off. i didn't dare trying alternative (and possibly unmonitored) roads to B&N, especially after my brakes had that nice swim. i back tracked, traversing the stupid lake again to get back home. no coffee, no yummy 5000 calorie lemon pie, no bookbrowsing, no card-browsing... just wet brakes (andthensome probably). ~ waves ~ |
one inch from flooding your place....yikes that must have been scarey!

That's a strange storm in the West. I looked at the movement of the storm on...NOAA Radar... BF:hug::hug::hug:

looks like the storms broke up and passed us, less than an inch of rain so far today. They had closed all of the schools in preparation for the big rain storms.
90% chance of rain for today. hoping that the showers aren't too bad. bizi |
The best weather warning is the weather warning that the Bureau of Meterology gets wrong. lol
Severe weather warning here. Seems as if it's a weekly event here. Hopefully they get it wrong again! |
4 inches here in past hour. :rain:
Leaking into my linen press of all places. I put a bucket in there and that's all I can do. Going to rain all night they say and it's not 5pm yet! Oh well. What can one do? lol  :) |
